I’m not seeing a lot of feedback here regarding the Wii/PS2 versions… so I’m gonna start some. This could be the first of many… “GB:tVG WTF” threads from me- I beat this on Gozerian first (ignoring things I thought I just missed) and now have played through 100% again tonight on Easy to complete all the scans and art pages @ 100%, and there’s just too much I can’t ignore!!!
and Mods, you can feel free to lock these threads if I get out of line. I’ve just been circling and lurking for topics on the best version of this game (wrangling on PC/360/PS3 just isn’t good, graphics be damned), and to date I’ve not seen adequate dialog! So if this is redundant and gets shut down, that’s your call, but I’m just about sick of the discussion as it stands… so, even though these are out of order chronologically in the game, allow me to start with my first WTF question:
Question #1
WHEN THE HELL did the
mayor shut down the city? Did I miss a cut scene? Suddenly there’s peck in a web on the wall, and Jock is regurgitating plot fixes faster than ‘■■■■■■■■■■■■■’ spitting fecesand everyone knows what’s up but me.
did I miss something? Last thing I knew I was in the graveyard, which was also a surprise since I went straight from rescuing those lazy ■■■■■■■ to a graveyardwith no real clues about what to do or how we got there.. Huh?
-Pissd in Peoria
Ist anyone else ■■■■■■ about the fact that you can basically sleep through fighting everything up to the island level, but as soon as you land on Shandor Island things get ridiculously hard?
And why the F*&@ am I the only 'buster who can trap a ghost? The AI sucks ■■■■■ harder than a Tiajuana donkey ■■■■■… RAY! Stop standing in front of the boss, man!
so who else had trouble on the 4 Skull-bridges? I get the PKE readings easy, and slime things to see what I need to zap, but what is up with the timing? It’s as hard as any timing/luck levels MegaMan threw at em in my youth…
you’re not all wrong… playing this on 360 is a completely different game, really fun and like being IN the movie, save for the button mashing. It’s just frustrating to see such a great adaptation miss on a few really key issues. I love the game overall; the color palette, the dialog, the way slime is still where you put it when you double back, the way items spin when you slime/wrangle them (like the doors in the Necropolis level)… all the little things that are so well done and thought out, and well executed because of the effort.
But then I look at the clipping issues, the sad, blocky characters, frame rate drops later in the game, the uneven difficulty between early and later levels, the N64-era cut scene animation (I’m looking at the black slime as it fills up into the beast, the water during the Ecto-8 cut scene… for shame, RedFly!) and that stuff gets to me. I have GCN games better than that from 2002. The game as a whole is great, easily 8/10, but there’s so much that should/could have been much better given the extra time before release.
I blame Sony. Not sure why exactly, but every story needs a villain
I just got 100% on the Wii version and I would have to say I quite enjoyed it. I only played through easy mode, so I will be doing it in gozarian.
I had a little issues with glitches and a few levels river of slime being one of them and the Splitting up cause of the glitches I kept running into
But all in all I enjoyed it. I do plan to get the PS3 version once I get myself a PS3. Yeah I am not rich nor have a job to go get one at this point. So for now I will settle for this one and might get the DS one for when I am traveling.
the one thing I have enjoyed though is being a GB. I always wanted to play as a GB. I also use to watch alot of the real Ghostbusters..so yeah it was like playing a 3d version of the cartoon. It was funny and very entertaining to play. Granted it was cause Wii isn’t good with graphics that I would have to say they were alright. This version will tide me over till I can get myself a PS3.
i give the game 7/10.. fun to play but the whole time im like wtf, im the only one traping using the upgrades on the packs. and the cutseens ugh… its like watching a vhs movie with all the lines and jumps going through the middle. then i look at the 360 and ps3 and im like are they serious.. i know theirs a difference between next gen consoles and old ones but come on there has to be a limit.. But i still loved it
