GB1 Superbit transfer

Hi

Does anyone here know if the superbit transfer for GB1 is the same as the 2005 DVD transfer? I’ve always assumed the Superbit release came out before the 2005 DVD and since Superbit sort of got made redundent, the 2005 DVD just ported that transfer over - is this correct? The only difference the Superbit I can see (through very limited info on the web) which the 2005 DVD does not have, is the DTS track.

So if anyone who owns the Superbit can confirm this, that would be brilliant thanks.

There’s a possibility that someone could own it, though I doesn’t seem very likely. According to Wikipedia Ghostbusters 1 and 2 on Superbit DVDs were released in Japan only. I know we have a few members here in Japan - so, hey, you never know. Good luck on your search.

Thanks for your help.

I actually remember when these came out, and I nearly bought them but held off because I wasn’t sure they would be in English. Now it seems that is not the case, and they do in fact have English audio. I kinda regret that decision.

I’m eager to compare the Superbit to the DVDs and the blu-ray to see if there are any differences. Then finally that can be put to rest for other people’s curiousity as well as my own.

I’m also looking for the 1999 DVD of GB2 here in the UK, so if anybody knows what the DVD cover looks like and where I might find it that would be a great help also.

It’s the '99 transfer.

Any improvements with the '99 transfer on Superbit? I’m assuming the video bitrate must be at least higher on the Superbit so details should be a little better with less compression, as well as colours (maybe).

The video is definitely improved over the original NTSC release, but a lot of people preferred the PAL version for its increased resolution. Also, the DTS sound wasn’t favorable.
