I love GB11. I think they got off track after GB4 but they really turned it around in GB10 and GB11

I felt GB6 really had a good premise but lacked in the editing department.

I thought it was a boring disappointment as a kid.

As an adult I appreciate elements of it. It has some good jokes and good effects and Iā€™m able to view it as a standalone movie without unfairly comparing it to my favorite film of all time.

However, it is just a safe, boring rehash of the first film that feels like it was cranked out in some factory. Itā€™s frustrating they didnā€™t try something different. And parts if it donā€™t make any sense.

Itā€™s not a terrible movie. I still watch it from time to time. I donā€™t hate it but I certainly donā€™t love it.

I absolutely love it! The first one will always be better, but I like the darker elements of the second movie, and the courtroom scene is probably one of the greatest movie scenes in Hollywood history, in my opinion, and probably my favorite scene out of the two moviesā€¦

I enjoy ā€˜bothā€™ GB films equally; each has their own moments. :slight_smile:

i agree with ya 100% phil, the courtroom scene is amazing. the scoleris did exactly what they were suppose to do and scared me when i was younger. first time we really saw ā€œmurdering ghostsā€ and the GBs had no problem wrangling them up!!

GB2 is good, the first one is my favorite because i like the ā€œused, dirty, grudge 80sā€ feel to the movie the same feeling i get with BTTF, and the original starwars trilogy. GB2 they got back into buisness, the ecto1a was shiny, their suits were never dirty, and lost that whole ā€œghostbusters 80s grudgeā€ feel to me.

still love it though, the only thing that irks me is the whole statue of liberty scenes, i wish they went in another direction. and the vigo fight at the end, when he possesses ray and they are sliming and zapping the painting. all good until his head just shrinks and we have alittle explosion

after seeing the special effects in the courtroom scene, the jogging ghost, and gigameter, the vigo explosion was alittle lame, and i felt that way since i was little lol

so to answer the thread after a long babble, yes!!! i love GB2!!

I love GB2, it has some of my favorite scenes, like the courtroom scene, the scene when the guys examine the baby or the dancing toaster. There are are places where I could pick holes in the plot, but in the grand scheme of the movie, I donā€™t know if it really matters all that much. That being said, GB2 has its moments, just like the first.

Just wait until Chickbusters 3: The Reboot comes out. Everyone will look back at GB2 and reevaluate its bronze status to silver. I think it may be happening already, albeit slowly.

I mostly feel sorry for young people who will never appreciate the Titanic scene. Both because they donā€™t understand that the fate of the Titanic was still a mystery at the time and because they donā€™t know who Cheech Marin is.

exactly my point as well! the kid that works with me thinks starwars episode 1-2-3 is starwars, not even close. starwars will and always be the classics they were back in the 70s and 80s. the puppets, the robots, the flashlight lightsabers, plastic vacuum formed body panels.

now everything is CGIā€¦ yuck

the classics get thrown away and forgotten when the reboots come out, and i will preach forever about the classics, they will always be in that certain place in my heart

The Titanic and Hindenburg both appeared in the 8/5/88 draft.

But in terms of the thread topic, I love it. Sure, it captured a different zeitgeist as the first one. But it worked well into the story. And I as well regard the Scoleri Brothers capture as one of my all time favorite sequences. Janosz was a hoot. The idea of being stepped on by the man and getting right back up (albeit 5 years later) was just a great of an idea as the first movieā€™s getting booted from the university and going into business for themselves.

Loved ghostbusters 2 as a kid.The ecto 1A looked sick when they made there comeback.Slimers cameo,more Winston and of course the courtroom scene.The scoleris were scary as hell for kids

Always loved it, to me itā€™s as good as the first.
