This is one item that I thought we would never be able to carry. These are very close to being the right lamps used on the Proton Gun (and Ghost Trap pedal). They are made by the same manufacturer, and are pretty much the modern day equivalent. I can’t imagine we will be restocking these, so purchase them if you want them!
Since they require a 250 volt power supply, I’d imagine they’re pretty bright. Any pictures of them in action? (Not on a particle thrower, just lit up.)
The neon one (red) uses actual neon gas in it. It requires a certain voltage to excite the neon gas enough to give off light.
Seems absolutely pointless given the fact that you could use an LED or incandescent. Maybe it is used on specialty items that already have high voltage sources.
Well being an electrician that works in the industrial feild I can concur with AJ.. thats probably the best way to put it.. a nowdays equivilant .. a nice find aj..
ok, so you would need a capacitor or something like in a disposable flash camera? Wow, that is hard core! My stuff runs on batteries and I’m not much of a circuit guy, but those are REALLY cool!!!
You basically have to gut them and replace the insides with whatever lighting you are using in your thrower. I’m glad AJ got these in, as they are a pain in the ass to get a hold of; as I know first hand.
