GBFans sound board issue.

So I have this weird issue with the sound board. I have plenty of power going to it 11.1 volt 4,000mAh battery. It is loud and it doesn’t distort unless I peak it out which I don’t want anyway but it crackles. That’s the only way I can explain it like its part of the recording or something I have tried two sets of speakers and it does the same thing and only on the pack hum sound. Is there anyone else having this issue?

How are your connections?

Especially the connections on the wires to the sound kit and speaker. Could be a lose connection there which definately can cause a static-type noise.

If you’re using the canakit amp make sure you’re using the correct input terminal. Also 11V is a bit on the low side. If its a 12V battery it may need a thorough charge.

GBFans Sound Board has a built in amplifier.

Are you using an 8 ohm speaker or 2 4 ohm speakers? The most common issue people have with the board is using a single 4 ohm speaker when you really need a 8 ohm or 2 4 ohm speakers installed in your pack. I keep looking for exoray conversion instructions, but while skimming the posts on gbfan sound kit installation the speaker issue comes up quite a bit. I’m surprised it is not bolded, underlined, and in italics by now. As for the power I can’t comment really. Somehow I thought I read it can run at more than just 12 volts (like 9v to 12v), but that may have been sharing power to the lights and not what the sound requires. Definitely followup with spongeface and/or the instructions before getting anything new to power your sound card.
