A belt that came up for auction at Profiles In History:

Notice the two pouches, one on the left with Monitor 4 and the on on the right for the sound level meter in his left hand.

Finally parts:

Three inch belts in nylon and canvas:

Strap in 2" seatbelt, 2" nylon web, 1 1/2" nylon web, 1" Siler web and 1" white flat:

A leather belt fob:

The one on the belt above appears to be the same type that was on the tan belts

A set of fobs with 2" V-ring on black , 2" Dee ring on black and 1" Snap Bolt on silver:

A 1" Swivel Snap hook, a 3/4" Swivel Snap Bolt, A 1 3/8" Dee ring and a 1 1/2" ID ring:

The 3/4" Swivel Snap Bolt should be 1" but are real hard to find.

Continue.

One theory that I have regarding those 3.0" belts is that they wanted a wider belt to help hide the actors’ girth (mainly Dan Aykroyd, and surprisingly enough, Harold Ramis, who gained a bit of weight). Cluttering the belts with fobs, lifegards, belt gizmos, trap holsters, and pouches also contributes to making the actors seem smaller around the waist.

That’s the second prototype belt I’ve seen that seems to be made of nylon with the white fobs. The belt that’s with the suit currently in Sony’s lobby is of a similar design.

That is actually the same belt flipped inside out in the other picture. The other picture has the blue “harringbone” canvas backer showing.

Interesting to note that both the belt that sold at auction and Erine’s are missing white and silver fobs and this thing is loaded with them and no black ones.

Sounds like a conspiracy of sorts…

Of course, it seems in the film that each belt had only one grey/white fob. I seem to remember Ray having at least two at some point, either during the montage or in the subway tunnel. I know Ernie had a grey fob on his belt a few years ago.

Is that the same suit Ernie wore in GB2?

I am aware he does have one or two in his own collection but just wanted to clarify this photo, also what i find funny is he is wearing his gizmo on the other side of his belt  must have been in a rush getting his gear back on his belt

Ernie currently has one dark grey GB2 suit and a fan-made suit (which he’s currently wearing to conventions). Unfortunately, his khaki GB1 suit was stolen about a year ago. As for his gizmo being on the opposite side, it probably got moved at some point over the past 20 years.

Wow! Who steals Ernie’s suit? Not cool at all. From everything I’ve heard he’s a great guy to the fans, and a great guy all around… Bad times…

On a slightly more “on topic” note I found one of the bigger clips at Wal-Mart, but it didn’t have a square back, it had a round one. As far as my Gray Uniform/ GB II fobs went I kinda went out on a limb and did some “close enough” key fobs. Which are a lot easier than the leather ones, as they don’t require the dying/ coat of Nu Life leather spray. I also added the clear leg hose to my gray GB II uniform, as well as a GB I arm patch, and text… Yep. I’m that kinda rebel. :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyone knows where I could get me that Sound Level Meter Pouch? Got the SLM, but no pouch :frowning:
