Well, it’s time for me to lose some words:
My name is Stefan (really? ^^), i’m 27, I’m living with my fiancée close to the Frankfurt airport (no, we don’t suffer from aviation noises) and since I finished my second studies in Dublin, Ireland, in 2012 I am working as Electrical Engineer for renewable energies for a small consultancy in Darmstadt, Germany.
Besides the reason why I registered here, I compose music, started playing table tennis again after a 10yr break and few weeks back I started to play badminton (more for dry bleeding reasons ;))
Musical contributions can be found here: http://stefangeidel.de (constructive criticism welcome!)
I gathered experiences with forums in the recording.de forum which is a platform for recording musicians. Those experiences are not always pretty but always educating when dealing with people
And it’s also good to lower your anger threshold.
I came to the Ghostbusters at the same time the first movie was released in German free TV. Dunno which date or year that was, but my parents were at a party next door and me and my older cousins were put into the TV room
Maybe it was the second broadcast. Anywho: I was very young. ![]()
Recurring nightmares about red glowing eyes of the terrordogs haunted me until my late childhood. Red standby lamps were my enemies ![]()
By gaining more self-confidence and driven by the comic heroes of my time (Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Ghostbusters, …) me and my friends fought invisible monsters and ghosts on the schoolyard with even more invisible proton packs. And that´s when it totally got me.
While my mother always realized my passion, my father had the opinion that my go-to-heroes were the Power Rangers and maybe he was right at that time.
The real collectors passion came relatively late - with the first paycheck. As for the collection I will write some stuff below that thread.
The great dream of a Ghostbusters fan is to own a Proton Pack and I wanted to fulfill this dream. Unfortunately the Pack had suffered collateral damage during transportation. So I think I now will need to build one on my own.
