A true legend of the ring, the man, the myth, the legend, Jerry the King Lawler. We know that if you would have come to pass you would have expired in your favorite place, around a wrestling ring but God didn’t want you to go down for the 3 count just yet. You hold a special place in my heart since not only are you a wrestler but you are a fellow artist that packs just as much ability with the pencil as you do in the ring. Get well soon Jerry “The King” Lawler.
Watched it live and was totally shocked! Michael Cole did well to keep it together, felt for him having to sit there giving updates!
Hope he pulls through, was an awesome match too! ![]()

I read on fox sports that he had a heart attack. I think it happened Live on the air?
Ye, basically he went in the ring to help out Randy Orton which then got turned in to a tag team match.
After the match he went back to commentating but during a break he got up, collapsed and carried off in to the back. Michael Cole had to make the announcement live on air, saying that it wasn’t part of tonight’s storyline.
He went on to say that Lawler was given CPR and rushed to hospital. It turned out to be a heart attack.
Thankfully it’s reported that he’s in a stable condition and that he’s having or has had some sort of heart surgery.
According to people on the scene he was clinicly dead at one point.
Link?
There wasn’t any footage of him being taken away that I saw and I was watching it live in TV. His heart must have stopped though as the were doing CPR back stage.
I never really watch live anymore, but I happened to be watching on Monday when Cole made the announcement. I remember how eerie it was after that to hear the show with no commentary. It was just weird.
After Cole made the initial announcement and then they came back from commercial, I remember being frustrated thinking “Come on! How about an update?” Glad to hear that so far he is doing well. Hopefully he will make a quick and full recovery.
According to doctors he has not suffered any brain damage and he has walked around his hospital room apparently. So that’s good news.
