GHOST CORPS FUTURE

So which movie is it based on? The classic or the reboot? If it is Dan Aykroyds original concept come to life that would just blow my mind.

Wasn’t Prime Evil a Filmation Ghostbusters villain? Don’t get me wrong I always wanted to see The Real Ghostbusters fight him too. I have a good feeling they would have kicked his ass too. I always felt The Real Ghostbusters had superior equipment as opposed to the Filmation’s Dematerializers.

Time will tell. The premise from earlier news suggests a melding of Aykroyd’s original concept and the International comic.

Or Tempus.

Point of view of a ghost?

Interesting…probably a Slimer movie then… Did have a thought, an unlikely one but i’ll throw it out anyway…what if the ghost is one of our classic busters?

Spengler is the most likely candidate but not sure how I’d feel about that though, would make me a little uncomfortable that they’d be exploiting the death of Ramis…how about Venkman though, Murray always joked about being killed off and a GB3 script did have him as a ghost. I think Venkman would have the most fun with it too.

Next thought was how about ghosting them all though? Say a problem arises that they can only fix by entering the netherworld.

Either way an animated Ghostbusters movie is what I’ve always wanted so I can’t wait!

Nope, as mentioned many times it was always the intention for there to be females in the new movie. Feig would never have made it otherwise.

That’s not what I meant. I meant that the tone of the movie isn’t “Women rule, look at the women!”

It was what they were going for. What ended up on screen was a polite way of saying that.

Or, no offence, it’s what you want to be there.

Ghost Corps figuring out how to reasonate with the parallel universes, plus Drew Pearce treatment not very good.

I’ve never bought in to the whole “Oh well if this movie tanks then we won’t get more stuff so we should support it anyways!” mentality. Batman Begins wouldn’t have happened without Batman & Robin, but I sure as hell won’t pretend that it was a “necessary evil.”

Also no matter how this reboot turns out numbers wise, I doubt Sony will wait another 30 years to try to revive a theatrical outing of “Ghostbusters” in some form or other.

I don’t doubt the franchise will return even if the movie was a total failure.

I do think the more money it makes, more possibilities are open and the sooner we get them. I don’t mean just more exclusive GBATC stuff.

From what I can tell the movie isn’t doing well at all. I hope Sony has a backup plan.

Another great interview with Reitman. They’re thinkering about using some previous discarded ideas…even the original Aykroyd`s one.

It is performing respectably, coming in second to ‘The Secret Life of Pets’. Sony’s plan all along has been to manage and release a variety of media which, for now, includes an animated series, an animated movie, and going forward with sequels to the reboot.

I love how people think the movie is a total failure if it doesn’t do Star Wars TFA numbers in it’s first weekend. Just an unrealistic expectation imo.

Is it doing insanely well? Not exactly? Is it a total bomb? Not even close.

I really think once people start to realize it’s a really kid friendly adventure (quite possibly more kid friendly than the original) we’ll see a bit more.

Pretty sure we’re going to get at least a few more thing out of this, as the new animated series and animated film are already in the works.

The mixed team thing has been rumbling around for quite some time now as well, also pretty sure I read something about a sequel already being green lit.

I know, right? But, apparently, we’re being “blinded by our fandom”, so whatevs… shrugs shoulders

Yup here is one of the articles thats cropped up re a sequel http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/films/news/ghostbusters-sequel-confirmed-by-sony-exec-there-is-no-doubt-in-my-mind-it-will-happen-a7142631.html

A few things.

1 I loved this article. Probably one of the greater ones I have read in a while

2 The reboot is not going to fail. It wasn’t bad. It wasn’t as great as the original of course as far as graphics but it wasn’t bad. It was funny. Some dumb stuff, but some very clever stuff also.

3 Cant wait to see more Ghostbusters stuff in the future!!!

Reitman talks post credito scene and.. Cabbie Dan knowing too much about ghosts classification

I don’t think asking for a mixed-gender team and continuation from the original films was too much to ask for, hopefully they learned some lessons from this production.

I’ve learned exactly where my geek card belongs. ::Shreds::
