Yeah, but there’s better out there than ALAMDV (now EffectslabDV). Something like Photoshop or After Effects would yield better results (provided you have the talent) because of how much more control you have and the fact that they are far more powerful. I’ll do some searches later and post links to some Photoshop proton beam tutes I’ve seen on the net (I found a really cool one once, but I can’t remember where I saw that particular tute).

Photoshop Proton Beam Tutorial

Proton Stream Turotial

Voila!

It did come as a bit of a shock when I got a note from DeviantArt saying my tut had garnered 1000 views. Thanks loyal viewers!

Thanks, Kingpin.

I personally have EffectsLab myself becuase I really wanted the proton stream…take it from me…dont bother with this program. You have to pretty much download plugins for extra stuff. With the Adbobe for movies, you can do w/e you want with practice. DONT BOTHER WITH EFFECTSLAB! Its a waste of money and I myself dont even use the program (and ticked I paid so much money for it)

this is an visual fx test i did some time ago… im gonna be putting up a more up to date one, but that one was thrown together in about 10 mins in photoshop… it looks really 2d cos i was messing around with it on 3d perspectives…

I made it over a year ago, and have meaning to make it better ever since. In this one, I went for a mix of film and RGB stream. I’m planning a stream/ghost/trap FX test, which I’ll probably make within the next few weeks.

I made it in After Effects 6, btw.

Hey Daf, that looks great!
