everyone else in the cast has said yes, sony has said yes to the money and the director has said yes and the script has been finished off by dan and harold. If bill does not want anything to do with ghostbusters why cant they just leave him out of it. he is NOT the only thing that makes ghostbusters what it is.
every time i go onto the net and see something about gb3 it seams to be getting closer then bill puts a stop to it. bill needs to remember that the movie help make him what he is.
is it just me or is all this bill ■■■■ starting to ■■■■ you off :sigh:
A. Bill is part owner, so they cannot make it without his go-ahead
Sony has said they wouldn’t be interested in making it anyway if Bill is out
D. Bill has been running his mouth off on talk shows and interviews because he gets asked about it constantly, and as an entertainer, he has to have a more witty answer than simply stating he has no idea what is going on with GB3. He hasn’t “put a stop” to anything yet. because he has been 0% involved in the GB3 process so far, and is just now seeing the script.
again, I have no problem with Bill holding out. Anticipation is aggravating, but the longer he holds out until he’s happy with what he sees the better chance the third movie will be a worthy successor to the series and not just some ■■■■ they threw together to cash in on the trademark. Star Wars, Indiana, they could have used some script love a lot of script love because trends and opinions and views change with time and the ones who roiginally brought the love to the screen don’t always follow along in those trends and stay stuck with what they know from 30 some odd years ago.
I say kudos to Bill, if he’s not happy and wants to do something when it’s worthwhile then we, the fans, win out in the end. And that’s all I care about.
why do new people think that doing this movie with out bill murray is a good thing and start a new thread because they dont want to use the search function and respond to those equally dense threads?
its like a movie with just costello. or just martin. or just larry.
I’m not saying doing the movie without bill is a “good thing”. They should do their damnedest to get him to do it. If that means rewriting the scrip 500 times, fine. If that means throwing money at him until he’s swimming like Scrooge McDuck, fine. But in the end, if he just doesn’t want to do it (for whatever reason he has in his head), should that mean that everyone else who wants to do it shouldn’t be allowed to? I believe that with the names currently attached they could still make something quite enjoyable. Sure it’d be missing bill’s charm, but the idea that bill is the only thing this movie needs to make it at the very least good is kind of insulting to everyone else in the production.
Hi there. This is Bill Murray speaking. Thanks for the note, SPJ. I haven’t read the script yet. You’re firing rounds in the dark, along with everyone else who isn’t named Bill Murray. Thanks again.
You know Murray supposedly has this 1-800 number to call and leave a message for producers and the like to call and if he chooses too he returns the call at his leisure.
That said I bet that Akyroyd has a more direct line, I mean after all those years of working together on various things and such it only makes sense.
Well other Bill Murray, the best we can do is be patient with ourselves and realize that if it will happen, it will happen, and if it won’t, it won’t. Namaste.
That 800 number goes to a dust and cobweb covered office that also holds about 1000 boxes of various action figure/product likenesses that have never seen the light of day
Aykroyd probably has just as much luck as anyone tracking him down…check the local golf courses, maybe some Cubs games, and with Brian Doyle Murray.
Hypothetically speaking… say bill is on board and they do the film, you guys realize that if the film is sucessful they will want to do a GB4… which, taking into consideration that the script plans for a passing of the torch, means that this will be the last time you see the original guys anyway, and the next film or films if any will focus on a new cast.
That being said… aside from the contractual element… if Bill gave the go ahead, but decided not to be in it… yada yada yada… would it really matter?
I’m sure there will be mixed reviews either way, somw would like the film, some would not, some would watch it, some won’t. that will be the conclusion of any and all case scenerios.
I know I’ll go and see it if it comes out… If it doesn’t, I’d be ok with it… If it does, and Bill’s not there, I can live with that too. I was happy enough seeing Ray cameo in Casper. lol.
What we really need to worry about is if they decided to make Filmation’s Ghostbusters into a movie.
