We’ve heard you mention that Mattel is planning on doing re-releases of the Ghostbusters line. When can we expect to see this, and what will it entail? Could a four pack be in the works?

Most of the 6-inch and 12-inch figures will be back. Likely, the first reissues will be toward holidays 2010.

We have all been buzzing like flies since we read that you may be releasing a 12" Vigo the Carpathian figure.. are there any plans for the rest of the year?

We don’t have any set plans right now for a 12-inch Vigo. Not that we couldn’t get to him one day, but nothing is set right now.

With San Diego Comic Con only a few months away, when will we have a chance to see the exclusive green Peter Venkman figure?

As soon as we get a final sample we will show it off! We just don’t have a final figure yet.

When we got some projections at the beginning of the year for Ghostbusters products, did those numbers for figures include the Real Ghostbusters line? Is that going to be a new line since it is destine for retail?

The Real Ghostbusters will be featured in our Retro Action line, which will be available at Toys “R” Us and through select online sellers.

With the squished head problem on the Peter Venkman (12 inch) figure, could it be possible to see a new Peter Venkman release?

We have corrected this issue with the vendor so it should not appear again. We do still have some stock from CS product from the first run so we will sell that off first before looking into going back into production.

  1. Along with the Retro-Action Real Ghostbusters figures, will we see the online only adult collector 6" Real Ghostbuster figures?

  2. At New York Comic-Con we saw a 12" Slimer figure, is that still in the works?

  3. A while ago an Ecto-1 was mentioned as a possibility, is this still something that we might see in the future?

  4. The Masters of the Universe figures have a diorama display, could there be one for the Ghostbuster figures?

That was a pretty weak Q&A.

I hope there are plans for more RGB stuff, not just the retro action figures like the recently previewed Venkman, I don’t much care for figures with cloth-like clothing.

Wish there was more info on the 6" line! :whatever:

So, we’re going to get 6 NEW 6" figures in 2011 according to the insider, most being from GB2…I wonder which they will be??? I hope 4 are not just GB, otherwise this line will take forever & forever to get a good mix of characters, especially ghosts.

Hopefully figures like unslimed Peter & Egon do not count as “new”.

I’m still REALLY annoyed that the Real Ghostbusters will be sold at Toys R Us and not the standard movie line. Does this make sense to ANYONE!? How could they not think figures which are superior in every way, and based on timeless movies would sell well enough at retail… yet niche figures based on an animated series that hasn’t been on television in over a decade they put into stores? Mattel needs to buy a clue.

Here’s a question for the next session (I genuinely can’t remember if this has already been answered or not):

Will the Real Ghostbusters licence only be utilised for the Retro Action Line, or is there the possibility there will be a six inch fully-plastic line sometime in the future?

Im not surprised that they are going to put the retro RGB figures in TRU stores, last time I was in there I saw several other mattel retro figures (marvel characters I think?) on the rack. they do nothing for me, but my nephew would probably like them.

I just read reports in the past week that th retro line is already on clearance in some areas.. that does NOT bode well at all for a RGB retro line of figures.

If they can’t sell mainstream popular figures, a movie license from 25 years ago has pretty much a zero chance of success.

Oh awesome ! Now not only do I have to hunt for gd minimates at TRU, Ill now have to hunt for the RGB figures! HURRAY !

Oh, you won;t have any problem at all hunting for those retro figures. Our tru has had exactly the same number in stock since they first put them out, 3-4 weeks ago. No one around here is buying them at all.

Yeah but those aren’t Ghostbusters. My TRU has had the same Marvel Minimates for almost a month, but the Ghostbusters line sold out in a matter of days.

Can you tell us how many pieces have been produced of each character?

Have the numbers increased, decreased or stayed the same with each figure.

6" Venkman sold out in about 27 hrs did quantity have anything to do with that?

Will the re-releases be packaged differently in order to distinguish them from the original releases?

totally, they even had the old MMPR figures, i can’t believe i thought about buying all of them.

the Q&A did suck but it did serve its purpose. We did learn that we can all fight in the tru stores for the figures.

here is a freakin question:

Will the retro line be as hard to get a hold of as the Hot Wheels Ecto-1?

They can’t really answer that. The most they could do is say how many of the Hot Wheels were made, and how many of each GB will be made, but they can’t tell you if people will get to the stores ahead of you.
