GHOSTBUSTERS: HELLBENT CASTING CALL

Hey All-

White Tiger Filmz is currently working on a feature length fan film, GHOSTBUSTERS: HELLBENT. We are about 50% done shooting now but have realized there is a key role we forgot to cast.

We are looking for someone to play Dr. Egon Spengler. I know, I know, people generally don’t like when a sequal recasts the original. However, he is a key part to the story and in our script. You don’t have to live in our state to be able to do this. We are looking for someone with MiniDV quality that would be able to film the footage and then e-mail it to us. Your name will go in the credits accordingly, this is a VERY important, but simple role.

If you or anyone you know looks like Dr. Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis) please start by posting pictures here and we’ll go from there. Someone closer to Egon’s actual age would be appreciated as we’re taking the production pretty seriously and would like actor’s to look their characters age. If you have make up experience to contribute to your age then by all means. Below is a pic for reference. Thank you.

Good luck in finding somebody. I don’t look enough like Egon, nor am I old enough anyway. However, I had heard of Ghostbusters: Hellbent and wasn’t aware you guys were so far into it. Any word on a potential release date, and how can fans get a copy. I would love to get to watch it, and would especially love a copy on DVD if you are distributing them in any way.

The film should be done late May early July. It’s been stuck in production hell for some time now. We started right around when Freddy vs. Ghostbusters came out, which is why hank Braxtan has been such a help to us. Some props from Freddy vs. Ghostbusters are even in our film. When the film is done we will be premiering it at a local theatre here and will have DVD’s shortly after. The dvd’s will be sold, but only to cover the cost of a blank DVD so we;re not making any profit just reinbursting ourselves. The film will be available for downloaad online however, the DVD will feature behind the scenes footage, bloopers, a featurette and commentary as well as concept footage and art. So you can downlaod it for free but the DVD offers more.

Awesome! I will most definitely keep my eyes pealed and pick up the DVD when it is available. Just out of curiosity, where are you located? If it is anywhere near me, I’ll try to buy tickets to the theater showing as well. Can’t wait to see the movie! I love that we are getting so many Ghostbusters fan films! With Freddy vs. Ghostbusters, Return of the Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters: Generation coming soon, and now Ghostbusters: Hellbent also coming soon, this is a pretty cool time to be a Ghostbusters fan! Can’t wait to see your movie!

hell yeah, I’ll pay for a dvd of a fan film of ghostbusters. I havent seen one yet that I havent liked.

I’m not trying to be a stickler, but dont you have to have copyright permission to sell anything with an already copywrited name on it? Anyways cant wait to see it! Also the reason i say that is, I remember when Star Wars Revelations came out on dvd, and they could not make one cent on it, literally, or Lucas would have been up there ass 9 different ways.

Well, I think they are okay as long as they don’t profit from it. They can’t profit from it without the proper permissions and licensing rights. However, he said they’d be selling the DVDs only for the price it costs them to make them and send them out to you, so I think that means they’d be okay.

I’m glad I’m not the only one that’s been working on a fan film for a while. What equipment are you guys using?

We are filming on MiniDV. As far as location we are locatedin RIchmond, VA. Same deal with ticket prices and the DVDs. IF…big IF here, if we decide to SELL tickets as opposed to letting people in it will be a very small price and only to cover theater rental. However, I don’t see us selling tickets. The only thing being sold by us at all would be T-shirts with our Hellbent logo and website on them wich will also include a free Hellbent DVD. Fun little tidbit…while filming this week we got pulled over in our Ecto…sucks we didn’t get pictures…this being a prop board I’m going to bet you can all guess why we got pulled in an Ecto.
