Ghostbusters II toaster

Ive been searching for the exact toaster for some time now…I think I found the exact model …at Savers today…It matches up with the Screen shots I took…You may think all chromed toasters look the same…It is very hard to find a simple straight sided chrome toaster…Many are made with curved rounded edges…

Here are the screen shots.

image

1- no design on the chrome surface

2-white slider knob for desired toast setting

3-“one slice etched” marking on the top between the two slots

4-side handles are the right height and proportion

and photos of my toaster

if you pause it on the dvd, you will notice that they have blackened out the portion of graphics that has the Toastmaster name and the Light---------Dark graphics.

model number sticker under the toaster

which makes it a Toastmaster Model no.B700

and after some google searching. It seems that it was the company’s first two slice toaster introduced in 1978

a bonus to the find was the other two items i found at Goodwill on the same day.

I simply love it.

Tell us something we don’t know :stuck_out_tongue: (I posted this up a couple weeks ago)

I am, I’m just waiting on parts for more power!

My Dad remembers having the exact same Toastmaster B700 that he had bought when moved out of his parents home back in 1979. My Dad remembers already having a toaster when he married my Mom back in 1984. When I going up I remember my parents having a Toastmaster B720.

where some mood slime when you need it?

We have it under control…

Nice toaster. Where ever did you find one?

Some douchebag gave it to me

Since I’m the kinda guy who would rather you be mad at me for insensitively pointing out the spinach in your teeth than you be mad at me for not telling you about it and letting someone else embarass you in public…

You might just want to double-check the spelling on your slime label.

Because it looks like that would be pronounced “PISS-CO-MAGNATHERIC”.

Alex

I’m pretty sure they got the spelling right…they don’t call it Alfred Hitchcocks Piss-co, Psycho is spelled the same way.

to be honest I’ve never seen it spelled any other way.

No, the “y” and the “s” are switched.

LOL! Dyslexia strikes agian It looked alright to me…sorry about that.

Joe PIScopo.

I love the fact that he got ‘dyslexia’ right, but misspelled ‘again’.

No worries, we all make a typo now and again. I just seem to be wired to always spot them.

When I run people’s credit cards, I often notice discrepancies between their signature on the back and the raised letters on the front, and usually they themselves have never noticed it.

Once at the gift shop of the Civil War museum in Corinth MS, I was really admiring this one bronze miniature of their bas-relief sculpture out front… and then noticed that it said “Cornith” on it. The cashier said in 18 months since they’d have the item, I was only the third to notice. She herself had failed to catch it when she signed for the order.

And so far this school year I have had to tell my third grader’s teacher TWICE that she misspelled ‘Thursday’ on the sheet with their spelling words: “Spelling test Thrusday!”

I told her I think she ought to let the kids slide a few times if they spell one of the words wrong.

Speaking of my third-grader… when I was viewing this thread earlier, I went and got my decades-old toaster and compared it to the online photos. (It’s not the correct model, but close enough!)

I was in a mad dash to get out the door to pick everyone up because today was only a half-day of school. When my son walked in and saw the toaster in the floor, it was one of those proud dad moments… he asked, “Are you going to make it dance?”

I said, “Maybe.”

And he observed, “Now if only we had a pool table.”

Has he got the gene or what?
