I saw these in person at C2E2 this weekend and I gotta say they blow the Mattel figures away. And thats from someone who is generally pretty happy with the Mattel figures.
I highly doubt it. they said they are going to do an Ecto-1, but the same scale as their lights & sounds BTTF Deloreans, so neither these new tall figures or Mattys figures will fit inside. maybe some other company will get the rights to do Star Wars / GI Joe scale Ghosrbusters figures.
Sorry, guys. With the economy the way it is, I cant muster the enthusiasm let alone the money for another scale. $12-17 for a 3.75in figure? Meh. I can take paying a lil more for double the scale with the guarantee of a limited run and time between waves.
Even in a smaller scale, they would gouge the hell out of us for that car.
not sure I understand what youre saying. DST is already planning on making the 1:18 scale Ecto-1 with lights & sounds, and when they first released the “BTTF time machine” it was only around $50 or 60 I think, so I cant imagine their Ecto-1 will be more then $70 approx, which isnt too bad. Im saying it would be nice if some other company (it wont be Matty or Diamond Select) got the license to do small scale figures. I’d even be satisfied if Funko got the license and made ReAction versions of the movie busters for $10-15 each. as long as they fit inside the 1:18 Ecto…

I agree with featofstrength. At this point, getting a full line of figures with an in-scale Ecto is going to be astronomical in price. Its just not something that I’d be that interested in spending.
After having shelled out for all of the Matty figures, I had hoped they’d make an Ecto in-scale. But now, buying another line of figures, that won’t have an Ecto, and then hoping that another line is made in a different scale to have an Ecto? Not for me personally. I have plenty of Ecto models, die-casts, etc. that do the trick just fine. I’d only display them anyway, so it doesn’t really matter if there’s a car in scale to the figures or not.
