Ghostbusters Screening in South Pasadena, CA!

Hey all you Ghostbuster fans…I have been all over the net trying to spread the word about this up coming screening of GHOSTBUSTERS!!!

Here is all the info!

On Saturday, December 5th, 2009, we will be presenting the 2nd annual “Hey You Guys” Charity event. This year’s special event will be a Ghostbusters-themed charity auction to benefit Donors Choose, an organization dedicated to fulfilling the needs of California teachers and their under-funded classrooms and art programs.

The night will begin with an art gallery/auction followed by a screening of the classic 80’s film, Ghostbusters. The event will be held at the Rialto Theater in South Pasadena. Admission will be free, but we will be accepting voluntary donations at the door. The artwork, contributed for auction by professionals in fine art, illustration, animation, and film, will honor films, such as Ghostbusters, that had a positive influence on their formative years!

I know coming in here all NEWBIE like isn’t very polite, last year we did “Goonies” and we had a lot of fans of that film show up. So come show your love…there will be some cool original Ghostbusters art, and we may have a great replica of the ECTO 1 show up! Its going to be great to see it on the big screen again!

Hi folks. The Rialto Theater has no parking lot. You can park on the nearby streets. There is a parking lot one block north behind the Bank of America you can use (same side of the street as the Rialto on Fair Oaks).

Anyone want to show up earlier in the day and play miniature golf? The Arroyo Seco Golf Course is a mile and a half west of the Rialto and it has a 9-hole mini golf course for $2 per player. I’m up for that if anyone else is. Let’s play!

Right now I’m thinking 4 o’clock is a good time to show up at the course. We should be done early enough to grab some food at McDonalds on Fair Oaks, a few blocks north of the theater. They sell hot dogs at the golf course.

I’m going to do my best to make it. I have to help my girlfriend move out of her apartment that weekend, but assuming we aren’t moving all day I don’t see why I can’t show up. And of course I’ll be there in full gear!

Woah! This could be a lot of fun, but I’ll have to see what my work schedule is like. I probably won’t know until a week or so before, but if I’m free I think I can make it!

Just tell your work you are participating in a charity event and you MUST be there. Worked for me lol.

:lol: I would, but I already took off some time for an IndyGear event, and our crew is already pretty small as it is. Depends on if a big show comes in or not (I’m a stagehand), but I think I should be alright!

Just updating, I’m still planning on going and if things continue to work out, I will remain optimistic.

Man i hope you guys show up in gear that would be awesome! I have a friend who is asking one of his coworkers to bring his ecto 1…so lets keep our fingers crossed.

One of that artist participating in the event did the concept art for the ghostbusters game i believe. There may be some of his art for raffle and for auction!
