This has been a long time coming, but I finally sat down and got it done.
The GBFans Shop now provides for more accurate shipping costs by actually calculating the weight of the items being shipped. This allows us to actually get closer to the actual amount that it costs to ship the items. Mainly to prevent underpayment, but also to prevent over paying.
So far I am quite happy with the results (and the fact that everything appears to be working correctly).
Please give it a try! I will need some people to test it out, and the only way to do that is by placing some orders!
Found one bug where someone was charged a small shipping fee, and got the Supporting Membersip. So that has been corrected.
Had a few orders where the shipping charges were small, and fairly accurate.. But had one that most likely overcharged for shipping. I will be looking at the weights of items and see if I can’t more accurately figure them out.
I just made the weights more accurate.
Turns out I was way off, and needed to round to the nearest 1/10th of an oz.
The calculation was accurate when you just ordered a small amount of something, but if you got a lot it added up really quickly. I will be looking at the orders placed since yesterday and determining the differences in shipping, or any and refund when needed.
A friendly reminder.
This is the Halloween Season. The new changes to the shop make it easier for people to ensure their items are sent to the right address… but ONLY if YOU enter the RIGHT address.
I have gotten half a dozen requests today to change addresses on orders that were placed. This is becoming a huge annoyance. The address you enter into the shopping cart is where your order will be shipped. If you have any changes, it will only slow down your order.. or potentially cause the item to get sent back. If that happens it is up to you to repay for shipping and your item will be delayed.
Place your order before October 15th to get your parts by October 31st.
