First off, I wasn’t sure where the best place for this story would be so that people would actually see it, so I posted it here. Feel free to re-post and/or admins, feel free to move it to wherever you think it works best…
So this past Saturday I went to Wizard World Chicago (…or Chicago Comic Con…or whatever you want to call it) and I wore my Ghostbusters uniform. Had a fun time, saw many other Ghostbusters, had my picture taken by random strangers…pretty usual fair. After the con, though, my friends and I decided to get some dinner. The restaurant we wanted to go to was too busy so we found a T.G.I.Fridays not far from our hotel and went there instead. Walking in there was a mother with a young child (4 or 5 years old maybe) and at first I thought she was heading out so I moved out of the way, but she motioned me to come in. As I came through the door she said that they had seen me getting out of my car and that he was a huge Ghostbusters fan and really wanted to come talk to me. The kid knew all of the character names as well as the actors names and went on and on about it for a while. The mom indicated they’ve been trying to find toys, but have thus far been only able to find stuff on e-bay for hundreds of dollars (I pointed her to Matty Collector, but she seemed to already know about it).
Anyway, the point is, it really made this kid’s day to meet a “real” Ghostbuster. And it really made my day to make his day.
Just thought I’d share that with the rest of the community.
