Great Idea!!!!!! (Ima Freakin' Genius!)

Okay, this is my greates idea yet! Better than the Ecto-Magnum, and PeopleBusters Slime-pack combined! Okay here it is!:

Remember the RGB toy pack? Remember that foam “Proton Stream”? Or the EGB Toy pack, and the plastic tube they used for their Proton Stream? I found something that, if used correctly, could be used for even the most accurate Pack! I found this lil’ gem a year ago. A site called buystarwarsstuff.com. They make the coolest lightsabers ever! So then it hit me…

If you input the electronics for the blades into your proton thrower, then you could alter one of these blades to look like the proton stream, and BAM!!! YOu got a Proton stream you can take to convetions! Also for those that are handy with tools and not CGI…So what do you guys think? 8)

P.S. the blades are EL Lights! They looks better in a dimmer light. THese pics were taken in a rediculous ammount of light!

That’s a pretty cool idea!

Some guy at a con suggusted to put a fan in the gun box and attach a streamer to the end of the gun tip to make a proton stream effect. Kind of like those wacky waving arm flailing inflatable tubemen infront of car lots. Sounds like alot of work.

Same with the tubes. You’d be hard pressed to put the curves into that glass tube without messing it up.

It doesn’t have to curve and be super accurate!

those tubes are actually polycarbonate so its nearly impossible to curve actually

well noone knows what it will look like till they try it out.. I dont think he is saying is will look all jiggly.. I think he is just saying it will make a beam of light like a saber or phaser effect.. still neat..

To be honest I don’t like this idea at all. For one it would be a hassle to carry the rod around with you as well as all the other gear that a GB packs around, and the other reason is it would look totally dorky.

Think about how many of us out there chopped the foam stream off of the wand of the plastic toy packs right away as kids, it just didn’t look right. Just my opinion.

PVJ is right.

Sure the lightsaber idea can be adapted to a proton gun (I actually thought of something like this before) but the overall effect would be rather disappointing.

Still, if someone wants to experiment with the concept, I recommend getting a $49 Ultra Kids saber from Ultasabers…

The entire hilt can probably be fitted to the existing gun body somehow.

Not only that, I’ve never heard of a straight proton stream lol. It has good basis in theory, but just that. Not to knock you but I gotta agree with the other guys, it’d be a pain.

I do agree it would be a pain to carry around, but it would probably look pretty cool (accuratness of the beam aside) in pictures.

To be completely honest… I don’t think this is a very viable idea for carrying around

BUT… This might not be such a bad idea while a pack is simply on display in someones house. You could use a red or orange tube for the main beam comming out and use some blue tube lights maybe or tiny blue leds to wrap around the red. It wouldn’t be perfect but it might be a neat display idea.

Keep working on it in your mind… maybe you’ll come up with something.

To add to the Ultrasaber idea…the blade is completely removeable via 1 set screw.

I think someone should try to build a neutrona sabre.

Interesting!!!

Are you thinking a lightsaber device that would have a self-terminating proton stream? Maybe to do battle with a ghostly knights of the round table!

Well heres an idea for ya. Ever drive by car dealerships or any business or event thast trying to draw attention, they have those wacky wavy arm guys that are just cloth creations with air blowing through them that makes them go all wavy. You could create a cloth sock thats mulicolored and allows light to shine through, attatch a small air tank with regulator to your pack and stuff the sock into the tube in the front until you shoot air through it and it will go crazy out the other side. Kinda like the movie but way low tech and won’t look all that great but still is something. I might just have to build a prototype now. Any interest?

Look, i’m sorry that my idea doesn’t fit into anyone’s “anal accuracy department.” Also, i don’t get how you can’t see it as something cool to have.

Hey GVGB2005, build one and let’s check it out.

I think what people are saying is that ultimately it will look like a lightsaber but hey, it’s a starting point. It can be jazzed-up from there.

It really is a clever idea.

GVGB2005 - I don’t think anyone is making fun of you… just offering their personal opinions on the subject. Hey man… if you like it, think it’s cool, then build it!! I’m doing several things with my proton pack that people probably won’t agree with but I think it’s pretty cool and that’s what matters! Go for it man

I agree with prototype 7. I’d love to see this conceptualized. I’m always one for creativity. My pack is very unaccurate (see avatar), but hey, it does the trick for me. I’m always one for creativity. I personally wouldn’t want to do this to my pack. It’s hard enough to maneuver :D. If you build it… They will come…
