Hello … I’m Jeff from Quebec Canada and I’m here because someone on Mattycollector forum told me about the place.
I’m a big 1/18 scale diecast collector, I have 487 models at home. I mainly collect exotics but I have a small theme in my collection which is movie cars (63).
In my free time, I custom built movie star cars that are not made as an “official” licensed movie product. I’m not at 14 completed projects.
I’m now starting to work on Project #15, and I’m attacking the new Ghostbusters Ecto-1 that just been released in December by Mattel Hot Wheels Elite. The model is stunning !!
Now I want to add fully working lights and lightbars on it but also a working siren kit on it, the problem is that I’m no wiz in electronic. Now someone at Matty’s told me this:
“I’d ask someone over at GBfans if I were you to come up with a sound and light kit. There are a few people over there that could probably put one together relatively quick and cheap”
I know that 1/18 police 4-tones siren kit exist and it looks like this :

I put one on my Project #14 (Transformers Barricade Mustang Saleen) with all the working lights. I got the audio sound clip ( I can send it) … but I need to find someone that can modify the soundchip or make a custom kit like the one in the link, but with the Ecto sound.
So is anyone here capable of doing such a thing? Or does anyone knows where can I find someone/someplace/website where they make custom ECTO-1 siren?
I’ve seen many Kenner Ecto cars with working lights and siren but I wonder if they’re custom built or Kenner sold them like that. I could find one and use the sound board and speaker but no one replied to my question about if it’s custom or not
