I made this tonight from MDF. About 2 hours work. I plan on molding with plaster and making Latex casts.
What ya think??

looks good man!!!
Cool.nice work
Looks great man.
I did mine the same way basically. Wasn’t such a chore now was it?? ![]()
That looks great!
I wouldn’t use Plaster and Latex though. Regular resin would be fine.. perhaps with a rubber coating.
The originals were made from wood as well.
Well i wouldnt fancy making another from wood. It wasnt that hard, but to get the details the same would probably take too long and once i use some filler it defeats the object of using wood to make them from!
I probably will make resin copies aswell as latex ones. I wanted to use plaster because the latex cures harder and faster with a plaster mold… rather than the thin skinned easily damageable foam filled versions I’ve seen from other members.
Ill probably make two molds of this. first with silicone, cause there is a better chance of the former surviving and the second with plaster… Cause i’d like to try and make a full hard latex gun grip that couldnt be achieved using a silicone mold!
Thanks for the compliments guys,
I should have some pack updates soon… I’ve been working hard!

I would make a 2 part silicone mold and try making them out of a harder rubber type material. And for some odd reason just as I want to talk about it the name escapes me but I have been making the spark plug tops for the flux capacitor and was going to try making more accurate feeling rubber ones so the material would be nice for a gun grip.
Are you talking about Plasti-dip? If so I was thinking about making some rubber grips out of that stuff myself. As I remember it comes in quite a few color.

No no no, not plasti dip. Though before I started getting into molding and casting thats what I would have jumped to. I plan on doing some work with the material so i’ll let you know if I get around to making my own grip and then casting it in this poly eurathayne I want to say.
