What’s the correct OD of the gun handles, is it 1" or 1 1/4"?
I’ve been wondering the same thing, 1 1/4 just looks way too big to me after looking at how the guns rest in the actors hands. Unless they all have huge gorilla hands or something.
Just printed out Stefan’s plans, whcih are supposed to be the most accurate, and the gun handles are indeed 1 1/4" OD. Guess I’ll go with that then.
i used 1" metal pipe for my handles and they feel and look just right when i hold my thrower. i think 1 1/4" looks a tad too big imo.
My gun handle tubes are 1", I agree with Nick …1 1/4" seems and feels too big and my grips are made to fit the 1" tubes and the acrylic tip and collars line up perfectly.
After ordering grips and collar I bought my PVC tubes - its “1-inch PVC tube” wich really is a tad more then 1inch OD. so far it looks great.

Don’t get me wrong mate I love the stuff I ordered from you, it’s great quality but your gun handle tubes ID are too small to take Exoray’s gun kit barrel light, which is why I was thinking of using 1 1/4".
I made mine with 1 1/4 OD pipe according to Stefan’s plans and I have to say they look good but feel a little too big. oh well
I think they felt a little big at first but now im used to the feeling. I think the 1,1/4 PVC pipe that people use is the measurment for the ID and and the actual measurment is for the OD.

well the other thing that people run into is that a lot of people don’t specify thin walled or thick walled pvc, thick walled 3/4" is pushing about 1 1/8" OD but 1" thick walled is too big, and if it is the righ size for the barrel, the handle is obviously a different size
What’s the measurement on his gun barrel light? I’ll have to look into that. The 7/8" OD acrylic tube would be really sloppy in a 1 1/4" OD tube I think. As it stands I need to bore out the 1" tube with a 7/8 bit to get it to fit.
It’s the perfect size 
It’s 7/8" outside diameter the same diameter as the acrylic tube should be, with a 5/8" step down diameter so it should fit right inside the end of barrel tube, if the correct acrylic tube fits my barrel light will fit…

umoribawar makes aluminum collars of the end of your barrel. You send him the inner and outer dimentions of your tube and he’ll make one custom for you

Well assuming it’s 7/8" acrylic rod and by all accounts that is the general consensus…
Then the polished aluminum barrel end it 1/8" walled leaving the outside diameter at 1 1/8"
The rest of the barrel (black part) is 1/16" wall tube leaving the final diameter at 1 1/4"
Stefan’s 1:1 gun plans lay it out in detail page 3 and 4…
So if you are sticking to the generally accepted plans, the outside diameter of the tubing should be 1 1/4"
BTW PVC is a nominal measurement rolled over from the cast iron days…
1" schedule 40 PVC is about 1.315" OD (just a little oversized) and has a wall thickness of 0.133" leaving the inside diameter just over 1" the acrylic will be a lose fit…
If you able to hit up a REAL plumbing supply house and get some schedule 120 1" PVC then the 7/8" acrylic will fit like a charm, even schedule 80 PVC would be closer to 7/8" inside…
one of the things i noticed that help me set on a size, is when you take a good top on view of the gun, you will notice the gun tube and the clippard are almost the same size.
