I found this strange little toy a while back and was shocked to see how well it would make a cool modern PKE. So I repainted it and POOF my PKE is born.

What does it do?
Check out the video at the bottom of the post. It has 2 bright blue flashing lights in the clear part and makes a buzzing/humming noise. The slide switch changes the speed of the lights flashing and pitch of the noise.

Very nice! That’s an awesome find, you may want to search that little sucker out on the net and let us know what it is, maybe some of us could find those in old toy junkards in town and just mod 'em up like you. Good job, A+ 
It was made by SRM Entertainment Ltd. in 2004. The same company that makes those little spinning light and sound toys you see in the junk toy section at most Walmart and K mart locations. I think it was sold as a toy stun gun. I can’t find any pics of it on line and can’t remeber the name they called it.
I have that toy. It’s called the Power Gear Shocker for anyone looking for it. I had thought of repainting it also, but I first came up with the idea of ripping the guts out of it and putting them into the old RGB PKE that came with the RGB proton pack toy to create a type of Ghostbusters PKE/Star Trek Tricorder hybrid thing. Crazy idea, I know.
I’m also using a light sword called the 3 Color Neopower Sword from the Power Gear brand as a basis for, hopefully, a light up proton beam for my pack. Progress on all of this has been slow because of school but I’m hopeing to have these and a complete Ghostbusters costume done for Halloween this year.
