Hey everyone, Gencon is over and Halloween is coming in a couple of months so it’s time to make some improvements to the pack.
First off, mine is constructed from wood but I’d like to put something on it that removes the obvious wood grain. That’d go a long way towards perfecting the pack for me. I was wondering what sort of materials you guys would suggest applying to the pack to give it a nice smooth finish?
Second, lighting kits. Right now I’m running off of LEDs that blink in unison on the cyclotron and a cycling blue light from an auto parts store for the power cell. I’d like to get one of the lighting kits on the site, and was wondering who you guys would recommend (other than Hyperdyne) for lights that are relatively (read: under $200) low price.
Thanks, I’m more worried about getting the cyclotron and power cell lights looking up to standard. The gun lights I’ll worry about eventually, but they aren’t a priority for me at the moment.
As for pack lights I have a few kits left in stock and will be doing another PC board run this week this will delay shipping for maybe two weeks, on the pack light kits once I run out of the boards I have on hand…
To eliminate wood grain will take some work. You will need to do some heavy sanding and apply some glazing putty (Bondo makes it). Sand, glaze, sand, glaze until you get that smooth look. Sometimes it helps to primer after sanding to see what spots still need some work.
