Hey everyone. Well the season is finally here (for me anyway). Halloween is coming up. Every year I have a big party…and deck out my yard and house like crazy. Usually every room has a theme (beetlejuice, torture chamber etc) and my basement is my GB room. Now last year I had a containment unit…which I am going to overhaul, posters, pictures, signed pics, a pole and some other stuff…this year i’ve added a bunch of stuff so far, the GB phone, an extra thrower, etc. My question is what do you think are some good props to have in the GB room. The more creative the better. I was thinking along the lines of making a slimer, or terror dog, or Stay Pufts giant sailer hat. Let me know what you think would be cool. Thanks!
Bags of marshmallows everywhere. Crunch bars obviously. Go on ebay and find a “It’s Miller Time” sign.
I am a big fan of subtle but recognizable touches to things.
One length of PVC (size determined by height from floor to ceiling), one round piece of plywood, about 2.5’ across, painted black. Attach round piece to ceiling (preferably near a corner, for aesthetic purposes), paint PVC metallic gold and attach to middle of circle and to floor (doesn’t need to be “attached”, really, as long as it’s a snug fit, particularly up top…you want to look like it’s going up into the cieling, anyway).
Viola - instant fire pole.

Solidgold the miller time thing is amazing. I agree i like the subtle things, i’m going to have a plate of twinkies, and i’m thinking of anything with “world of the psychic” or Rays occult books. And gjustis, i did do a pole last year. check it out!
you can’t see the ceiling there…but i did the same thing you said..i just used matte board…with a felt top…so it wouldn’t scratch the ceiling. I think this year i might make the “gate” thingy around it…so it doesn’t just look like a black hole.

Yea i was thinking of slime. Maybe a pink or green shampoo? And definatly twinkies. I’m still trying to figure out a dancing toaster. I am also close to pulling the trigger on making a giant Stay Puft Hat. (Simialr to the one in the deleted scene.) I’ll get pictures up asap.
The giant sailor hat would be awesome. If you make it, post pics.
The GB soundtrack would kinda cool to play in the background. If you can get it on CD (or MP3) and set it on repeat…

if you can get ahold of a light projector, you can set up a “ghost” area. Project images of people and creatures onto glass to make a transparent ghost image. If you can get a video projector, even better. You can loop a moving image and make it look like a ghost is really there.
Im sure you could use low rider “hydraulics” from an RC or model car to rig up one. Ive seen Snaptite models with working systems… usually snaptite brand models for $12-$20 depending on what it is and where you buy it.
From there I bet itd be an easy build.
