I am quite surprised that no one has ever got hold of one of these Iona shoe polishers and cast the shell. Looking at these threads there would be lost of people who would be interested and there are such talented people offering almost all the parts required to make the packs.
I’m looking to make a PKE meter to complete my costume but I’m looking at having to make it from scratch as I just can’t find an Iona shoe polisher Anywhere and I have been trawling Ebay and the net for months!!
Well I figure If I can’t get an Iona Polisher anywhere, and I have really been looking for one, then I’ll have to scratch build it.
That’s not too much of an issue for me in that I have scratch build lots of other models and props in the past and there is lots of reference stuff around to make it accurate.
I am just a little surprised that of all the parts that are available, no one is offering copies of the Iona shells.
If I manage to ever get my hands on an Iona polisher I will certainly look to see about offering fibreglass or resin casts of an adapted and customised shell, if anyone else would be interested that is??
I’ll send out a few feeler’s and see if anyone can help.
I do think that if I can get a good idea of the dimensions on the real thing I will be able to scratch build one but having the rough shape already present will make the process quicker, especilly as I’m looking to include working, servo controled arms and full lights as well.
