Not sure if this has been posted anywhere, and I know we’re not suppose to post ebay auctions that aren’t ours, but…
What a great guy that’s so awesome of him to do. Thanks for the heads up and you should be fine with posting that because of the significance of the auction.
Anyone ever see that episode of Curb your Enthusiasm where he’s auctioned off for a fan lunch…yeah.
So wait. Is this real then or not? I mean, if it happened on Curb Your Enthusiasm then this could be a practical joke based on that right?
I don’t know. Sounds pretty fishy to me. Still, I suppose it is more likely than picking him up at home and just driving around town with him. …or something like that.
It’s quite possibly real. People do this often and use the winnings to go towards a charity of the celebrity’s choice.
Photoshopped.
That’s actually ME in the passenger seat
That’s impressive! You have a reverse video camera in your car, good idea!
(Oh yeah, Ernie Hudson, that’s cool too
)
There’s actually four cameras in the car. Two facing to the rear and two in the “guns” on the roof.
This car got some interesting looks and then some interesting double-takes. Most of the better moments involved cops, cabs or cute girls. We’re on the corner of Highland and Hollywood which is probably THE most prominent intersection of all Hollywood. Ernie called it “The Times Square of Los Angeles” and he couldn’t be more right. A couple of LAPD have this guy pulled over and he’s getting cited for something. We stop in traffic right behind the cop and as the cop turns around to take a glance, he sees the Ecto, does a double take and goes “Whoa.” Then he does a triple take and says “No way. Ernie f***ing Hudson?!?! In the Ecto?!” The light turns green and off we go.
Ernie had a LOT of moments like that. More than anything I think he was just pleased to be in a car that ran. We’ve all heard his stories about how the screen-used broke down all the time for both movie shoots and promotional gigs but then he mentioned Paul Francis’ Ecto broke down at the Barrett-Jackson auction last January and had to be pushed onto stage. WTF? I tell ya Ricky, these cars are just addicted to dying spontaneously.
Take a look at the camera image in the pic. That’s Sean behind us in the DeLorean time machine. Those DMC headlights are pretty unique to recognize.
