Hi, I am Scott, I have been a GB fan for quite a while. I have always wanted to create a proton pack, and create a uniform…well why not do it. I was at convention this week, and the group at the SCghostbusters, they really inspired me. So here I am.
I am hoping to get a movie uniform created, and in time get a uniform and proton back based off the real Ghostbusters created…the brown is what I would really like.
I look forward to meeting you, becoming a part of the community, and sharing this fandom of what we call the Ghostbusters ,to a new generation..
Scott
Welcome to the boards Scott!!
Welcome to the forum, Scott.
You’re certainly in the right place for gathering information towards assembling a Proton Pack and uniform, and there’s a small but growing selection of fans who specialise in replicating the equipment from The Real Ghostbusters, so that’s a dream that can see reality.
I have been around and am really impressed with the quality of work that people have put into the packs and uniforms. I am really looking forward to this and getting into the State group. Been a while since I have been excited about something like this..
I can also try to sell advertising space on my forehead, I could also use the space on my kids foreheads. Then I will just tell my wife we all can eat ramin noodles, drink water, and maybe share the food with the cats.
After doing those figures , in about 3 months I will have the finances to start on my suit and pack. :boogieman:
Seriously, I am new here, and I am in awe of some of the craftsmanship displayed. I give you all kudos on what you have done. I plan on having my pic with my pack and uniform up here soon. However it is almost overwhelming to figure out where to start, I am thinking get the uniform together first, and then working on the props second. I think that is the best way to knock this out.
How did you all start this, and when you did , did you set mile markers (like getting the uniform done, then getting the wand done, ect?
I would guess that it is a slow expensive process, that you do not want to cut corners on, and stay focused on.
I got started by assembling the uniform first, and starting on some of the smaller props… such as the Ecto Goggles and the Ghost Sniffer that Peter uses in Dana’s Apartment. As I built up my experience and knowledge I eventually set my sights on gathering parts for eventually assembling a full Proton Pack.
Thanks Kingpin…
I am just going through the forums and really impressed, the shells, and all the peeps who have services to assist in getting the packs made, again I am impressed.
For the Pack, I wrote myself a To-Do list for what I wanted to get done with it, and I would make a habit of grabbing parts when they became available and when I could afford them.
Hey Scott! Glad to see you made it to the boards! Hope to meet up with you soon. If you need any help with the uniform or pack, we’re right down the road.
