Hello there fellow GB fans!!
My name is Brendan, nice to meet you all!
I’m actually from England (Born and raised in Kent but spent my final decade of British life in Hampshire) but have been living here in Yokohama, Japan for the past 9 years with my wife, Kayoko.
I was born in 1980 and the very first movie my father took me to see at the cinema was none other than the masterpiece known as “Ghostbusters”
My love for the franchise grew as I fell in love with the Real Ghostbusters cartoon and spent most of my time playing with the toys that my parents bought me for my birthday and at Christmas. Of course, I also managed to convince my Dad to buy me the occasional Ghostbusters comic too!
…Aah the good old days!
Then I grew up, and as the boom of the cartoon series came to an end, so too did my interest and off I went to high school putting my childhood behind me and instead spending all my time playing football with my pals.
Fast-forward 20 years to 2011 and I discover that there was a Video game made 2 years prior on PS3 starring all the original actors’ voices and I just knew that I had to import the game and give it a whirl!
That was last week.
Now, after playing through most of the game, I have experienced what can only be described as a “homecoming” as I have been reliving my childhood and finally fulfilling my childhood dream of becoming a Ghostbuster! I know it’s only a game but it really feels like you’re one of the guys and the whole experience had just been beautiful.
…and that is how I found this site!
I’m impressed to see that so many people have been “keeping it real” over all these years and the proton packs that some of you people have made are just mind-blowing!
From here on, I wish to start collecting GB toys and see if I can reclaim the little plastic pieces of joy that gave me so much enjoyment as a boy. Unfortunately, due to my location, this means I have to import EVERYTHING but I’m sure it will be a fun experience overall.
Lastly, I hope some of you still play the Video game as I would love to play multiplayer with some of you guys aswell as earn some of those elusive trophies! I know you’re all probably playing Sanctum of Slime instead right now (lucky buggers! It’s not available in Asia so I miss out. Boooo) but if you fancy helping a guy out, my gamer tag is Marisapo80
