I have been reading the forums for a bit now doing my research on the GB uniform and all important self contained unlicensed nuclear accelarator pack. I have been costuming almost weekly with the 501st Legion for a year and a half and own other costumes that I do not get to wear as often. Most of the time that I go out with my SW costumes I am doing charity work of some sort, whether it is parades, charity walks, or other fundraisers, and the best part is going back to the host entity and working with them at thier big distribution event or banguet.
Here in South Louisiana we enjoy plenty of great weather to get out and about in and I attend as many conventions as I can in a year. I am still undecided if I will proceed with GB1 or GB2 style uniform so I have much research to continue with. I pretty much devour forums before I post very much.
I’m the aforementioned “Ryan” Brad mentions. Welcome to the site. Whereabouts do you live? I have another friend down here who doesn’t really post. We’re both uniformed up. All we lack are radios, PKE meters, and ecto goggles.
I’m trying to start a GBI group. I have a personnel sheet filled out (player character sheet in other RPGs) and added a trait point to my character last time we played. My friend is hard to nail down on a time and place due to an EXTREME World of Warcraft addiction. There oughta be a WoW holiday when they shut down that server so that friends and family will have a chance to speak to and visit with our addicted friends. WoW AA: My name is ____ and I’m a level such and such blah blah. I’m a WoW addict. Maybe I’ll start a support group for friends of recovering WoW addicts.
Visit my profile page and look at my latest blog entry. I’m running the Mardi Gras Marathon to raise money for charity. I posted a link to my donation page at the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s website. I’d like to start a Louisiana GB franchise, but we’re one member down thanks to WoW. He called in sick to my bachelor party (but I know he was playing WoW).
