Hi , I am looking for a complete Ghostbusters uniform and equipment from the 1st. Ghostbusters film , I am not much of a builder so I wanted to know if any of the members can help me out with putting this all together …Uniform , proton pack , goggles , ghost trap …etc…you get the idea …I just am not that skilled at electronics like a lot of you are ….Thanks for any help …Johnny
As a means for those who might be able to help you to gauge things in regards to the replicas you’re hoping to build, what’s the budget you’re currently setting aside?
I have reservations about my own abilities to build things - especially expensive things - so I enlisted the help of another local Ghostbuster to help walk me through building my proton pack. I completely understand any reservations you might have. But putting together the majority of the uniform is pretty easy, especially with the shop here. Flight suit, name patch, no-ghost, elbow pads, gloves, and belt and you’re pretty much set. After that you can add a hose if you want (a lot of the Hawaii Ghostbusters don’t like it), random fobs, maybe a gizmo, but none of it requires electronics knowledge. The worst requirement is probably sewing - it took me a while to get everything sewn on because I don’t have a sewing machine.
But bit by bit, patch by patch, my flight suit started looking better and better and I felt good knowing I had put it together. I recommend trying to put the suit together and see how it goes. Worst case scenario you have to bring it to a local tailor/alterations shop and they’ll sew everything on for you.

I too have very limited experience with electronics, and a whole host of building skills, but that is a large part of my motivation to build a proton pack. You might find quite a few of us building our first packs are in the same position but the Proton Pack section is just jam packed with helpful information on everything you could want to achieve while building, especially the index thread.
