I am about to attach Aluminum Labels to my pack. I am curious what others have done to attach them. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Peel them and stick them? What problem are you running into?
The plan I’m intending to employ with my upcoming build (although it may not be applicable to yours if you’ve already painted your Pack), is to leave a section of the shell unpainted and unprimed so that the adhesive of the aluminium labels adheres to the material of the shell for better grip.
I work in the medical field, and I use this spray made by 3m for wound application. Its a fine spray that protects a wound, and makes the skin tacky for dressing application. I would try it out in a small spot just to make sure it doesn’t react funky with your paint. Its like tack cloth, but without the cloth.
If the labels are not already adhesive backed then I would suggest using CONTACT CEMENT, but like Ben said you may want to leave the area unpainted for better adhesion. Making sure the surface is truly flat and dust free will also be advisable. I know that peel and stick products can curl and eventually fall off if they are subjected to temperature changes or left in a trunk for example so if you really want them to “stay” stuck, use contact cement, once it’s stuck…it’s stuck, just be careful when you align your pieces by standing them on edge and then lay them down.
^^^ What Irricanian said. If the surface is prepped properly before the labels are applied it will help a lot, but contact cement is the best option.
It’s the same process I used for sticking the feet to the underside of my aluminium Ghost Trap pedal plate.

I lightly sanded the painted area a bit and applied rubber cement. I worked great. Thanks Guys,
