HELP - Proton GUN hanging from belt

I know it’s the Proton pack but it’s an essential part of it.

In GB1, I’ve seen Ernie Hudson and I think it was either Egon or Ray talking to Rick Moranis’ character after STAY PUFT exploded in the penthouse. WHen they were leaving Ernie’s character is seen with his PROTON GUN hanging from his belt.

Are there any ideas (key fobs model, more likely to use) to hang the gun from your belt, but also what do do with the gun itself to make it happen, if any method?

If you want another screen reference look at the Sedgewick Hotel scene when Egon pokes the man on the 12th floor hallway. He’s got his PKE meter in his non-poking hand and his thrower hanging off the belt.

Don’t take me wrong… It does, but it didn’t worked for me for some reason. That’s why I’ve posted this topic. Like I’ve said before in my intro; I’m NOT a forums newbie… almost 9 years of experience. Thanks for the help, though.

Awesome pics, and I also got to see NOW the Hotel scene where Egon is poking the hotel guest. Looks like a longer or joint Key Fob mix maybe… but indeed it’s attached to the BOTTOM of the proton gun. Thanks guys for the input… now I know what to do.

Now, what kind of gage width do you think that wire is like? Looks pretty thick.

Looks like 10, maybe 12? I’d think you could probably bend a thicker coat hanger to the required length.

It’s not wire, its an S-Hook that’s been bent. I couldn’t tell you exactly what size you’d need, but if you go to Home Depot or Lowe’s you’ll no doubt find them.

Just a quick question if I may. I wanted to check this could be done on a GB1 gun so a quick search bought me here. I attempted to attach mine this morning.

I purchased the s hook from dimen fabs, however during the process I noticed that the hook would not allow me to hook up my gun due to it not being able to pass the HGA on my pack.

Has anyone else had this problem?

All suggestions welcome. The only thing I can think is that the hook is too big.

One of the reasons why I don’t like the hook under the gun in the way they made it originally.

Is the male part of the V-hook on your pack attached to a mounting block or directly to the pack? It should be on a mounting block. If this isn’t the problem, you may just have to bend the hook to a flatter angle.

It is on a mounting block. I shall try and bend it a bit.
