hi guys, new to the forums and in the process of building my first pack, so far so good. I see some of you have made pretty convincing gb 1 ribbon cables. That is def something i would like to attempt but i have a few questions. Where did you get the wires from, specifically the end section of wires that are white in color with the stripes of color in them? As for the sections that appear to be clear, what is that best way to make that and what are you guys using to bind that clear section to the rest of the wires?
Btw, this forum is amazing and I’m really glad i found it, I’ve been a ghostbusters super freak ever since I was able to support the weight of a soap detergent box and an attached curling iron on my back haha.
I will say one thing though that may be pretty obvious to most, but to some maybe not.
If you can’t find all the right color wires, don’t do what I did and try painting wires because it doesn’t work, the paint will never stick/dry.
Well at least I’m figuring out all the ways Not to make a gb 1 cable haha.
I actually found a spectra cable that appears to be the exact one Ray has connected to his head in GB2 when Peter is talking to him on the phone about Dana’s bathtub. Funny thing about it that it has all the rainbow colors of the GB1 cable minus the white with stripes section and the clear sections obviously. I know it wasn’t used on the pack though, the gauge is not even close, way thinner. Just makes me wonder If they ripped apart a similar spectra cable to construct it or if it’s totally custom, considering the clear section would seem to serve no real purpose?
