Hey guys, as explained in the subject, Im new to the GB fans community and I dorm here in Manhattan. I’d like to join a GB group if there is one in the city and get some info on what you guys do and how to get started. Thanks you guys

There is no Current NYC GB group which is stupid… I was thinking of starting a chapter soon if I get enough intrest…

Im interested as well, although I’m not exactly NYC. I used to live in Monroe(by the Woodbury Commons) and now I’m up in Kingston, NY. Correct me if I’m wrong but as far as I can tell, there isn’t any NY Chapter at all. So what exactly is needed to start a chapter?

I have already considered some logo ideas but have not gone foward with anything until more interest comes and things really get rolling.
Nice! I have a few friends who are interested and saw my pics from this year’s Halloween and want to build their own equipment, so we may have more potential members in the near future. I also have several friends that are artists, as well as one friend who is going to school for animation/video game design, and I’m thinking of putting them to work in their spare time to brainstorm logo ideas. And I don’t know if anyone here has web page design experience, but I have a little myself, and again my video games desgin friend also is experienced in webpage design.
I figure I might as well use all the resources I have available.
And on a slightly related sidenot, don’t you find it interesting that there isn’t already a NY/NYC Ghostbusters franchise? I mean that’s where it all originated in the first place
Very much so… This is why we will put a stop to that soon.
So I ran it by my sister, and I’m having her ask her friends to see if we can generate more interest. She also expressed interest in being our secretary if we can get everything going

Nice, one of my friends had mentioned the idea of the no ghost symbol wearing the statue of liberty crown and holding the book/torch

This is starting off well… The logo idea sounds good so far also..
Lets get this ball rolling
Now this Chapter of the NYGB will be already 7 members strong.
If this ball gets rolling well we can all have a meet up or gettogether and plan stuff for the upcoming ComiCon in NYC on October 8th-10th and meet up on Halloween also (Sunday) the 31st of October
sounds like plan to me, I’m going to try and get my other friends who are interested to sign up here and become active members of the community
Hey, I live in the Bronx, not to far from the city. Is there any requirement to become a member of this chapter like do i have to have a proton pack and uniform lol
The Statue of Liberty crown sounds neat, although some people may argue that the SOL is technically in New Jersey. Still, most won’t notice (unless you are from Jersey.)
Another option could be to transform the red “No ghosts” symbol into something that looks a little bit like a red apple shape, for the Big Apple. But the possibilities are endless.

The Location shots will be awesome… If enough members of the chapter have their own gear..
I am hoping that at least 2 or 3 of the founding members have their own gear (including myself) so that we have a group thats not only dedicated to GB but also has the equipment to show it … I am willing to help out here and there for people who are commited to building their own gear for this years halloween which should be our first gettogether if the group starts
I have nothing against people who just rock the flightsuit and belt and think its a GB costume, but sometimes you need to have it all to make the right impact
I have my own equipment, I built a proton pack last year. I also haVe the jumpsuit, belt and ecto goggles. I’m overhauling my proton pack this year though. I’m adding an amp to my sound and more accurate lights. I’m also working on a pke meter, trap and hopefully integrating an old supersoaker 2000 to make a working slimeblower. I’m also willing to help with equipment building. I’m currently helping one friend with a pack and I’m working with another friend to start producing vacuum formed shells for a reasonable price
