I’m Gail from Virginia, I’ve been a fan since I bought a from a thrift store a VHS of the first movie a couple of years ago. Fell in love and got the DVD. And the T-shirt. I’m pretty much a geek and it’s easier list to the things I’m not dorky about: namely Babylon Five, Harry Potter, Twilight and video games (mostly because I don’t have anything to play it on). Everything else from Echo Bazaar to Doctor Who I love.
I actually at first joined the here to advertise a Ghostbusters based RPG, is there any place I might do that?
Welcome. Did you make the RPG or is it some one else’s RPG? It would be interesting to see but may be a mod can tell you if you post it up. I think the ghost busters forum would be good to post it in. but welcome.
Welcome. But wasn’t there a GB RPG from WestEndGames long ago?
Also someone converted the rules to GURPS within the last few years.
Actually it’s someone else’s game. I’m just a player there someone else is the GM. The GM is one the best I’ve ever played with, all the players are the best anyone could hope for, and the game is about the greatest I’ve ever played. So it’s fun and that’s why I’m trying to advertise all over the place for it. It has also lasted more than six months and that’s rare too.
When looking up GB RPGS, I did see the old game, and I think someone has the rule book uploaded. But we don’t use that at all. We aren’t tabletop, but rather play-by-post. To my non-gamer friends (read everyone in Real Life) who would look at me like I’m mad if I talked about RPGs, I say that I’m in a writing club. And it’s pretty much true. No GURPS and die and the like. Or you know extensive stats that are such a pain to work out. I realize stats are a good thing as it keeps down the super-powered people, but really such a pain to do. And really for a play-by-post, anyone with a halfway decent grasp of writing knows that superpowers make for a boring story; so in this game the writers police themselves.
