Wasn’t sure where this topic belonged, it isn’t quite off-topic as it IS about Ghostbusters so I figured I’d post it in my go-to forum
I was responding to a post earlier when I happened to glance down at my stats and noticed that I joined this board on January 5th, 2002! ( :-o
Holy crap! That’s TEN YEARS! (Happy anniversary, AJ, I apologize, I didn’t get you a thing).
I’ve known a lot of you for ten years and I’ve never even met most of you. A good percentage of those I HAVE met through this hobby and the message boards I now count among my closest friends. That’s amazing. Ten years of builds and debates and discoveries and fights and laughs and I think that’s pretty cool.
I’d always wished for a group like this when I was building back in 89’. While I may not have had it then, I’m certainly glad to have had it for ten years and to have it now.
Looking forward to another ten.
Maybe I’ll actually have my gear finished by then.
Anyway, felt like a milestone. Just wanted to say thanks for a great resource, AJ and it’s been great sharing the craft with all of you.

Though we have never met, I will say I built my first pack based off your plans, and it was the proudest moment of my life so far at what I accomplished, I just wanted to say thank you. I hope to one day shake your hand sir !
I’m glad the plans helped out so many of you. I always thought it would be interesting to see all the variations of packs built from all the different plans all lined up for comparison.
I think that would be cool.
I also think you’d see just how little variation there is between all of them.
It DOES feel great to be productive again. There was a veeeeeeery long plateau for a few years followed by a huge re-evaluation of my participation in the hobby. I kinda disappeared, (for all intents and purposes), for a while.
Now that I have something relevant to share other than a few isolated pics of an Ecto at some event, I’ve jumped back on the roller coaster, (though I have fastened my seat belt this time).
It’s amazing how much everybody’s game has jumped in just the past five years.
Builders have taken what the old timers started and have refined it to the point where there are MULTIPLE choices for almost EVERY part and electronic component as well as almost every part identified.
This from,…well,…nothing.
From crappy freeze-frames on the GB II video tape, staring at props through the interference lines at sh!t like the Clippard valve saying, “It LOOKS like a white out bottle!”
