What do you gus use for the hose that connects the pack to the wand? I used vinal tubing and black wire covering (what they suggest in norms plans) and found it to be a little stiff.
I used 3/4 black wire loom tubing. You can get it Lowes or Radio Shak but the best and mean the best is going to be sold at custom car shops or hot rod shops if you have one in town go there first (not Auto Zone they have it but it sucks). And it is cheep around $6.00 for 10ft you only need around five. all in all I hope I helped you.
Why would the split loom tubing be any better from a car shop? Is it just tougher or something? More flex (so you don’t need a clear vinyl tube)?
I used just the black split corrugated tubing. It’s loose enough. I don’t see why you would need clear vinyl on the inside as well. Methinks it would make the hose stiffer.
Well at the car shops the loom tuning is not made out of cheep styrene plastic. I noticed that at the other stores the loom tubing was shitty cheep and flimsy. Trust me it is a lot better it is thicker and has a nice sheen to it. Please check out my pack it is on this site now and see for your self.
Oh and you will not need the clear vinyl tube.
I found that without the vinal tubing the black split tubing tends to fold.
How does everyone keep the split tubing from, well, splitting? (I would assume that you don’t want it to split apart at the seems when you flex it) Does everyone just wrap electrical tape around a few key points to prevent this, or does everyone just simply let it split apart?
Black electrical tape in a few key points is how it’s done.
Why dont you just buy it without the split in it ?
Most electrical component wholsalers sell corrugated conduit for wiring runs which doesnt have the split in it at all. Its what I used on my first pack. Its light, flexible and tough.
I think a normal shop-Vac hose will work just fine
I heard that some ponds have those types of hoses. I heard you can get it from Home Depot or Lowe’s.
