Haven’t seen this here, figured I post it, it says only coming soon but its good confirmation that finally this bad boy is getting some recognition.

The pics look awesome even though they need to fix some stuff but its promising, i love the proton packs on the stretcher
The top of the strobe bar is silver rather than black, the decals for the LED boards could be a bit closer, and the yellow rotator isn’t on the radioator grill… but on the whole, it looks wonderful. I’ll definitely be getting both of them. Hope Play.com has a similar offer this time around as well.
I’m sure they’ll correct it before the release, Hot Wheels is from Mattel but it’s not Matty.

After having got the Ecto-1 just yesterday and seeing the quailty I got to say I’m really looking forward to the 1A. I know the images are not the final product so im hoping all the inaccuracies are corrected and I REALLY hope they lower it. You can have all the fine details and fantastic paintjob but if it’s not lowered its not ecto1A to me. Very promising photos though.

Yes. They appear to just be small black packs. Not much detail to them, but they are there.

But- at this rate- the Warning & Caution decals look wrong, the caution stripes are going in the wrong direction on the passenger side, the CALL JL5-2020 is too small and not in italics in the rear…but lets just wait and see..I have faith in some of the discrepancies, I mean the damn flood lights aren’t even green in the “deco master” pics we’re all looking at…
It’s always surprised me how the art teams never appear to use this forum to help with their research with the various licenced replicas from the Ghostbusters universe… there are several galleries that show the props, cars and other items as they appeared in their prime in 1984 and 1989… why not use those to their advantage? Use high-res photos of the props as they are for the overall idea, and the period photos for the final finish… In addition to the elements already mentioned, they’ve also reproduced the error from the ERTL/AMT model kit that suggested the LED boards were mounted directly to the roof… in subsequent years I’ve been able to revise my understanding so now I know they’re mounted to the roof rack and sort of “float”.
It looks like that they’ve taken the same approach with Ecto-1A as they took with Ecto-1, referencing the car as it currently exists rather than how it was during filming (hence the clear spotlights on the roof, and the white radome, it having been bleached white from being out in the sun too long).
Hopefully it’s something that’ll get fixed by the time it gets released. If not, they won’t be deal breakers for me.
yeah, it’s kinda frustrating. It’s one thing on a little action figure or a $20 collectible-but a $100+ Die Cast Limited run Model Car??? Come on, put a little more effort into it!

Are the things everyone has issues with the colors and paintjob? Or is it the actual plastic parts themselves?
The only thing I see that can’t be easily fixed / finished by Mattel is the wrong light bar / strobes on the grill.
Well they are “Deco Master Pictures - Not Final Images” as it states at the bottom left corner of the picture of the 1A on the Hot Wheels Elite page so the final product may be more to our liking.
I myself have only a couple of issues with what we see in these photos anyway and those are the color of the rotators in the beacon bars, the lack of the rotator in the front grill, and the vents on the hood body wise, and you could always take model paint and paint the radome yellow and the top of the strobe bar black yourself.
Decal wise there is no logo on the hood, the Statue of Liberty is in front of and not in between Ecto & 1A on the license plate, and I figured since in the AMT re issue of the 1:21 1A they updated the sign board letting to a dotted style to look more accurate that Hot Wheels would have done the same but it looks like they went with the same lettering that was used in the original AMT release.
Those are my gripes, but seeing as I’ve already pre ordered both 1:43 and 1:18 scale versions I’ll obviously take it how it comes.
Only three physical elements are incorrect from what I can see, the bit about the LED boards I mentioned, the missing yellow rotator on the grille, and the bit pointed out about the plates on the hood. Everything else is paint application.
It was in that configuration for most of the movie, only moving to between “Ecto” and “1A” for the close-up shot.
It was? I never really paid attention to the plate except for the scene outside of the museum where it was in between Ecto & 1A and the scene outside Peter’s apartment when I heard that the plate said Ecto 2 in that scene. So because of the museum scene I just figured that’s how the plate looked when it wasn’t Ecto 2.
There are exactly 4 different plates on the Ectomobile throughout the entire Ghostbusters II film. I think the plate should be the very least of all our worries!
