mine is about 38 pounds with lights and batteries.
Without gun or alice frame my pack is actually about 3 and a half pounds! Once I add the paint and bumper, that will add more weight though.
Mine weighs 15 lbs. without the gun.
Not sure what it will be with the gun since the gun isn’t cast yet.
I envy you guys… my pack is mostly made from plywood and metal… it’s upwards to 40 to 45 lbs.
one HELL of a work out there ![]()
I looked at the building materials originally, and knew there was no way in hell I wanted to lug that much around for any length of time.
Heck, i can can go mountain hiking with ours on at this rate!
10-15lbs, if that. Two 4’ x 3’ sheets of 18 gauge worth, give or take. Not really heavy at all. ![]()
I have not weighed my pack, but with all the batteries, speakers and other junk I suspect between 30 and 40 pounds.
I think it was around 12lbs or so. Cardboard. Slime Blower on the other hand.

To weigh your pack, get on your bathroom scale. Note how much weight you gained since the last time you were on it.
Get off, put your pack on, and get on the scale again. Note what you’ll weigh without your pack on next year this time.
Subtract the first amount from the second, and you’ll have a good estimate of what your pack weighs.
Well gee, I guess we didn’t know that…
Anyhow…
10 pounds.
I used MDF, very little resin, and a lot of love. Damn, that love is heavy: 45 lbs. The six D-Cells powering the pack don’t help either but it’ll run till the end of time without a battery swap.
I have a crappy digital scale that only registers things over a certain amount, my pack won’t activate it -it’s too light. i recon that it’s about 10 pounds though.
I think on my next pack I’m going to focus on making it as light weight as possible.
That’s why we did doing our packs.. some things you can’t help.. like the ion rod, or metal fittings.
I just used 3" abs pvc though for the ion filter rather then a pringles can, because it would be more durable, (it’ll probably take some abuse), and the additional weight is fairly small.
As a tip of the hat to KC, (who gave me a detailed pringles can workflow last night in chat), I included a painted pringles can inside it, for the white filter.
This thing just looks so much more like it means business, and could actually do something, then the painted pringles can I tried last night.
I haven’t weighed mine yet,but I estimate it to weigh about the same as the average four bedroom house. It’s INCREDIBLY heavy, due to being built almost entirely out of MDF. Lessons learnt from my old vacuum formed packs led us to believe the extra weight would be more than made up for by the substantially increased strength. Plus, After trying on the pack after fitting the frame, it turned out not only to be suprisingly comfortable (no doubt due to the fact that the frame is designed specifically for carrying these sort of weights) but also sat better on our backs. We found the vac formed ones looked too high up,indicating the low weight. These ones LOOK heavy due to the way they sit on your back, giving them a certain ‘something’. So I would say deciding on how heavy you want it to be depends on what you’re after. Do you want something that won’t break your back if you’re wearing it for 6-7 hours on halloween, or do you want a pack that looks as if it really contains a nuclear accelerator? We went for the latter, but we may live to regret that…
Just tried that, and mine comes out at 13kgs or 28lbs. The gun itself is 4.5 lbs! For next year i will be replacing the gun and try to make the pack a little lighter for sure. I dont envy some of you fellas with 30+lb packs!

lol, My girlfriend’s 8 year old daughter wanted to try mine on.
She looked like a turtle. It was great! ![]()
I’d rather go light than heavy. My super heavy one I couldn’t bear to wear more than an hour or so!
You guys will like this.. now that I have a pack assembled, I checked the final weight. Without the gun, but with everything else including the alice frame, our packs weight in slightly under 9 pounds!
I figure with a gun, odds are we’ll be looking at 11 or 12 pounds total, and that’s just enough weight to remind you you have something big on your back, but not enough so that it’s much of a strain at all.
I’m VERY pleased with our packs!
Am I the only one who wants a heavy pack? Something about weight adds realism to me…
Also, it will make a great workout!
