So yeah, Sandy is gone (2 days ago actually) and I am still getting 30 MPH winds gusting to 40-50 at times. Anyone on the Eastern seaboard in the US, duck and cover. Get ready because it is a large storm.
That’s all? Call me when you go through a Cat 4. ![]()
But yeah, hope everyone fares well.
Its gonna be nothing LI cant handle.

I live in maine and my parents and I are taking down all the halloween decorations from their yard and porch, decorations I spent hours setting up a couple weeks again. were gonna set some serious wind & rain, hopefully no snow… preparing for the worst, hoping for the best.
Yeah it’s crazy, we got SLAMMED in Edison (NJ) by Irene last year. Our entire basement got flooded and we luckily were semi prepared, got up most of the electronics and valuables but still lost a lot. We’re prepared now, so thanks Irene!
I love (The Carolina) Hurricanes.

Glad to see another hurricanes fan on here! I hate the nhl lockout..just want to see my canes play again

Crazy seeing the entrance of the Brooklyn-Battery tunnel nearly completely submerged… when they said it was completely flooded, I’d assumed that was typical News hyperbole, but here we go…
Hope you guys in New York and the Hurricane’s path are okay.
Sandy didn’t keep me down.

Kinda reminds me of the Angry Video Game Nerd lol
My power went out Monday night, probably won’t get it back until at least this weekend. Other than that and a bunch of crap in the streets it wasn’t that bad.
40 MPH? Man, I wish our storms’ winds were that low… ![]()
we got lucky normally we loose power and our basement floods but this time we did ok except our basement got a little damp
but nothing we cant fix
I saw on the news it was Billions of dollars worth of damage. I hope they get things back to normal soon. I am glad I don’t know anyone from up North. I would of been terrified!
Paul, from Spook Central, has had his house in Long Island take a lot of damage from Hurricane Sandy. Suffice to say that’s why he hasn’t online and won’t be for awhile. In the meantime, please show him some well wishes on his Facebook or his Twitter.
While where I am did not take a direct hit; we were under a wind warning taking 121 km/h gusts at the Blue Water Bridge.
I’ve chased tornadoes in the past and that was the craziest winds I’ve ever seen. It just Didn’t end.
Hurricanes don’t suck…they Blow, big time.
Our power went out at about 8:30 PM on the 29th and just came back on last night around 11:30 pm. Half of our neighborhood is still without power. We were fortunate that the only damage to our house were some cracked window panes. Fact is, we got off real lucky, most of the Jersey Shore has been washed away and many left homeless.
I took a ride around the neighborhood yesterday ( when the Sun decided to show up ) and took these pictures. Majority of the damage seems to be caused by the 75 MPH winds taking out all the large trees with shallow roots.
