I figured I better ask now, is the jumpsuit the end all be all?

The reason I ask is because I kind of had an idea for my own take on a uniform, I plan to do a jumpsuit but first I wanted to try an idea I had in mind, that being to simply add the No ghost and a name badge to a simple work shirt.

I was reading gear guidelines for franchises and it started to seem kind of like a taboo idea for this sort of thing. I confess I wanted to make something I can generally wear at first, which I guess might seem kind of silly, especially if I want to link up with any other busters in Michigan.

I would venture to say it really depends on the franchise. Our group requires you have a screen accurate flightsuit and gear in order to join. Our team strives to present the appearance of an organized, professional organization. To have people showing up to events in work shirts with a No ghost patch and name tape, would just appear sloppy and unprofessional.

Ultimately it would come down to the group and their standards and rules regarding uniforms, you can pick up a decent flightsuit either here or on ebay, and down the road you’re going to need one anyways so if I were you I’d just go for and get the flighsuit.

Having the jumpsuit at least down the road is actually the idea, I like dark colors so I plan to go at least toward the GB2 route on that one.,

Was also thinking of Extreme Ghostbusters how Eduardo and Kylie deviated a bit fro mthe traditional uniforms.

And for the record I didn’t mean some cheap looking dinky little Walmart nametag, I mean the full on name patch.

Easily what I was thinking of, would probably order two, one for the shirt and one for the eventual jumpsuit.

In the end, do what you makes you happy as a fan of the franchise. There might be some that frown upon doing your own thing with the uniform but they’re not the ones that would be wearing it. Nobody has a strict governance over what we can and can’t wear, regardless of how far it strays.

The only thing I would say is to put your heart and passion into it so that it does indeed look good. Don’t half ass anything, really. But there are some examples of cool looking GB uniform-styled shirts only on here so look them up for some ideas. Like I said, do what makes you happy.

I think I’ll do that.

I had a couple of extra ideas to be honest, possibly an iron on on the back, maybe a “We’re ready to believe you” or a “call us” on the opposite sleeve of the no ghost logo.

But yeah, I’ll poke around, and maybe look up how to sew patches since I don’t want to sew a pocket shut by mistake.

But yes, what you said 100%. I know this isn’t anything canon, but, I’m also a steampunk, own a good few items for that, and it is uplifting to hear something besides a version of “yer doin it wrong”. Had people give me some heat for wearing jeans for a western look on that, my logic was “We’re talking 1800s, jeans were invented in the 1800s, I rest my case”

I proudly admit to owning and wearing a dickies khaki work shirt with my uniform patches on it. While I wouldnt nessisarily wear it with my gear to an event, i do wear it. Its a nice business casual look for hanging out with the gang, or trading my suit for it if I want to walk the floor at a con unharassed and do some shopping while still representing my group. In the end its you’re shirt, man.

No kidding, and in an odd way this IS an art form ,and art is in the eye of the beholder.

Plus, like I said ,there have been plenty of uniform deviations at least in the cartoons.

I wear my jacket all over the place, and I always get smiles, high fives, thumbs ups and sometimes request for photos everywhere I go… and that’s just a jacket with nametag and no ghosts logo, worn over my regular civilian clothes (I say “civilian clothes” because I’m in the US Navy, our normal everyday is anything but civilian…)

LOL! No kidding! Out of all the military services, we’re the ones who have had the most uniform changes in the past decade, and they’re still trying to change things up!!! =D

I always felt bad for you guys. I used to work for one of your big contractors, and everytime I went to newport news you guys always had something different getting thrown on you.

I saw that jacket of yours man. Seriously wanting to try it myself as that is stylish.

I got a blue denim a Harley Davidson vest I am sorely tempted to logo up. Found it at a thrift shop.

Well, I got the black work shirt. Almost got a Wrangler, but then I saw the Dickies shirts hanging at Walmart, picked one up and it is perfect. Now to just get the patches. Found the No Ghost easy enough on Amazon, and I think many have said that there are places to get custom name patches, since my last name isn’t Venkman or Stantz :stuck_out_tongue:

Somehow I knew that name would come up, I JUST placed an order form her for both patches, and I will be again when I work on a jumpsuit, or if, depends on what comes up, since I know some groups prefer more accuracy.

I also have an idea to maybe chuck some green dye at a pair of jeans for that “slimed” look.
