There are two different offerings: The Wand KeepAlive and the Pack KeepAlive.
Quick description:
- The Wand KeepAlive kit allows the wand to stay on indefinitely.
- The Wand KeepAlive kit can also keep your Hasbro pack from shutting down when they are connected.
- The Pack KeepAlive kit allows your pack to stay on indefinitely with or without a wand but only when the red power switch is in the ON position.
The gory details:
Wand KeepAlive Features (you may not need the Pack KeepAlive Board):
- The Pack will no longer have the 3 minute ON idle shutdown - The pack can stay on as long as your batteries allow.
- The Wand will no longer have any idle timers that will shut down the wand. The wand can also stay on as long as your batteries allow.
- Keep the Pack Alive even if your fire long enough to have the wand auto shut down.
- Still be able to shut down the pack from the wand when you want to.
- The Wand KeepAlive keeps the wand alive with or without the pack attached.
- Stretch goal #1 (DONE!): Keep the wand alive even if the rumble motor is firing.
- Stretch goal #2 (DONE!): Wake the wand back up after a long fire sequence that shuts down the wand. The wand will stay shut down for a few seconds to allow the pack to shutdown so it can “cooldown”, and then automatically start back up.
The Wand KeepAlive board does require soldering to install it in your Spengler wand.
The kit will contain the circuit board, mounting hardware and the connecting cable.

Pack KeepAlive Features:
- The Pack will no longer have the 3 minute ON idle shutdown - The pack can stay on as long as your batteries allow.
- The Pack will no longer disable the wand after 5 minutes of being powered down - The wand will always be able to powerup the pack.
- Support for replacing the D batteries with a 12V rechargeable battery pack. I use a 9800mAH blue brick style battery to power the Pack and the Spengler wand.
- Does not need a wand attached to keep the pack alive - as soon as a wand with the Wand KeepAlive is attached it will control the pack.
- Stretch goal #1 (DONE!): Enable a Sound Board to power up/down the pack. This would allow a Spengler Sound Board / Spengler Link combo to turn the pack on and off.
- Stretch goal #3 (DONE!): Be able to power the pack from either the D cells or a 12V rechargeable battery or BOTH of them!
- Additional feature if the Spengler wand has the Wand KeepAlive board installed.

The Pack KeepAlive board does not require any soldering and is a plug-n-play design.
The kit will contain the circuit board, connecting cables and a toggle switch cable assembly to cut power from the D cell batteries.
