Here is the obligatory introduction mail. 
I’m a costumer from Seattle, originally Star Wars but branching out. I’ve had to take a serious step back from costumes/props since the birth of my son, but we still dabble a little just not on the same scale as before.
I’ve wanted to do a Proton pack for YEARS, I’m seriously trying to get this done for Halloween this year after several years of trying.
I’ve already learned a huge amount from this forum, just scanning through the topics. I love prop and costume communities like this, the level of research and helpfulness is awesome.
I’m currently prepping and researching for starting on the pack. I’m waffling back and forth between the Foam insulation build (a la instructables) or the vacuform method (a la Studio Creations).
I’m not going for super accuracy on this version, although I’m leaving the door open for a second more accurate version. I really want to get the look right though, and do it justice even if I cut a few corners on accuracy.
I’m also hoping to build a set of speakers into it, so I can play the Ghostbusters theme from my ipod while wearing it.
