Hello! I’m an avid prop/replica builder, maker, woodworker, father, correctional officer, nerd from Arkanasas (close to Memphis). Decided to finally make myself known since I’m about to dive into my first proper GB build. All of the info on this site (as well as the extremely helpful community) have made the planning stages a lot easier than I anticipated.
I’ve got all the parts for my pack/thrower build ordered and on the way (except for the parts I’ve got printing on the 3D printer as we sepak), and I can’t wait to get started. I wish I had paid more attention to the list of blacklisted sellers, as I unknowingly made some cardinal errors regarding who I got some of my parts from…lesson learned. All the same, I should be able to start assembling stuff in about a week or so, so expect a build thread soon.
Anywho, looking forward to getting to know the members here.
Welcome, I am originally from blythville Arkansas. I also made the mistake of ordering from blacklisted sellers at first but it all worked out. I have my pack mostly finished just waiting on some labels and need to install a switch. Been working on a ghost trap while I wait. This site is very helpful for questions you maybe have.
Welcome TonyM, I’m a fan based in London. I nearly fell into the trap of ordering a pack from Videobob…GBFans saved me from that horror. I’ve got a build starting next year and like you I’ve got all the right parts ready to go. Look forward to seeing your progress!

Thanks. Ended up with a bumper and several wand parts from less-than-respected sources, and kinda got burned on the wand parts. You live, you learn, I suppose.
You’re welcome. Sorry to hear about that…and you certainly do learn, the hard way in many cases unfortunately. I had to return some wand parts myself due to them being received damaged in the post. I had waited nearly 3 months to get them as well, and I’m all the way over in London, so that was a very frustrating experience, which is still to be resolved. However, Freeky Geeky, CPU64 and ejgunth87 are three sellers that I’ve also recently dealt with for aluminium parts, all of whom have been totally reliable, and all supplying very high quality parts. And of course, the GBFans shop too.
Yeah the blacklisted seller and feedback threads are areas which should be the first port of call for anyone getting started, but I know just what it’s like - you’re filled with excitement and just can’t wait to get the ball rolling you can easily miss the signs. It just shows, no matter what it is you get involved with, you always have to be on guard against the less honest members of society, which is a great shame; but thankfully they are grossly outnumbered by really decent, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and helpful people, as you’ve found
