James Van Hise is offering #1-28 (original comics in “high grade” condition), black and white proofs & scripts (photocopies, not originals). He also said he’d sign any part of it that I want. Here are the auctions..

He said he’d do the full set for me at $300. I don’t know a whole lot about the worth of comics..I just love Ghostbusters and seems like a great set to add to my collection. What does everyone think? Good deal?
I’ve got a filing cabinet full of correspondence from JVH when those comics were being published. He regularly sent me the photocopies of proof art and scripts for free back then. Well, technically, they were ‘payment’ for providing him with VHS copies of episodes of the cartoon that he needed as research.
I was thinking of scanning a bunch of that stuff and posting it for the community, but now I worry that I’d be undercutting his auctions by doing so.
I also exchanged letters with James Van Hise, but somehow they’ve been misplaced over the years, which really aggravates me. He definitely seems like a nice guy and a class act
Looking at the prices on Mile High Comics, where mint copies of the issues they have seem to go for like $10 or more apiece, then add in all the extras, it does seem like it could be a reasonable price.
So in other words, like Ben said, if you have the money and want them, go for it. If the little voice in your head is saying it’s too much, then you probably shouldn’t.
