It was many many years ago.....

Hi, my name is Bryan, I’m from Wichita, KS, and have been a Ghostbusters fan all my life (well, it seems that way). I’m 25, and work as an aerospace engineer.

I remember the first time I saw Ghostbusters. The movie had just come out on VHS, and my dad had rented it. I wanted to watch it with him, and I did, up until the part when the Terror Dogs showed up. Those things freaked me out. But I loved the movie, and became very attached to the cartoon, and all I ever wanted to be was a Ghostbuster…

After my childhood, my life took a lot of different turns. My current “other” things involve my new wife (our 1 year anniversary is next month), playing guitar, golf, ultimate frisbee, writing and recording music, and exercising my faith in Christ (to the best of my ability).

I recently found this place when I saw a mention on msn.com that “Ghostbusters: The Video Game” was one of the most anticipated for 2008. I was blown away. Quickly all my memories of my childhood came flooding back. I decided to pick up the movie DVD set with a gift card from my birthday, and then it hit me. I wanted to be a Ghostbuster for Halloween. This is quite an adventure for me, as I always go to a big halloween party with a bunch of friends from Church and school (I still hang out with the college students, hehe). Two years ago I went as a Transformer (amazing, and done on the spur of the moment), last year my wife and I went as the Yip Yips (you know, the aliens from Sesame Street). Needless to say, I have performed quite admirably, and need to keep it up. So I wanted to make my own Proton Pack, and after checking around everywhere, I found this place, and I’ve started on my plans already. I figure with the ridiculous amounts of time that I have between now and October 31st, surely I can pull it off. So here I am…

I’ll probably be posting a lot about my progress and pictures along the way. My father-in-law is an electrical engineer, so we are designing our own lighting system for the pack (which hopefully will involve actually using the “stream adjuster knob”).

“See you on the other side, Ray…”

Welcome Bryan! Go go post progress pictures and goodluck with your building!

welcome! Yip yips? Wow, post that under “other”. : ) Electrical engineeers are handy to have around–good luck!

Welcome to the site Bryan.

How do you like Aerospace?

I don’t know how I missed the fact that there’s another *big *Ghostbusters fan in my town.. Cool deal!

I know this post is ancient at this point, but hopefully I’ll run into you somewhere this season, Bryan!
