Jeep Wrangler EERV?

I was wondering if some of you guys could help me with some ideas of what I can do with my Jeep Wrangler as far as an Ecto-inspired vehicle. Considering it’s a soft-top and I’d want to keep the top functional, there’s not much I can do by way of a roof rack, but I don’t want to just toss on a couple of logos and call it good either.

My idea is for it to be the “Ecto Early Response Vehicle” given that Northeast Arkansas is a rather large, sparse area of land that it might be a cool idea to have a smaller, more off-road capable Ecto-unit that can respond when the main unit isn’t needed or able. This would essentially just be our parade and event vehicle until we can get a more suitable car (we’re leaning towards a Magnum or an HHR).

I’m going to work on some Photoshop renders to try and get some of the basic ideas down, hazard tape, logos, etc. The only really good idea (at least I think it’s a good one) that I’ve had is to take a couple of those off-road spare fuel canister racks that connect to the spare-tire frame and use those to hold the proton packs… if I could stand the idea of the packs being stored outside of the vehicle… maybe just for parades. :whatever:

As far as lights, I had thought about getting a mini-lightbar to go inside of the vehicle and for events, replacing my fog lights with blue bulbs and adding a strobe kit.

Any ideas, comments, and criticisms are more than welcome :mrgreen:

If you want to do an interior lightbar, I would strongly reccomend something from Microman industries. They’re flat, fit Jeep windshields well, and come in 4 inch lengths from 4" to 48". Color and patterns are custom, and they ship very fast.

Bright as they come, and dirt cheap. I use it on my EMS POV / Ecto4.

Also being all LED, you can leave it running for hours with the truck off, and not worry about battery drain.

What year jeep do you have? Strobes are risky, the small tail light housings are tight and could be damaged by heat buildup if not installed just right. Strobes in headlights are rarely visible enough to be impressive. You might have some success with LED Whelen Vertex strobes though, Much much less heat, and amp draw.

The only other advice I have about an Ecto SUV is to be sure to have the GB theme playing for parades, and people will instantly recognise it. Without it, some people just won’t get it.

I’m with ya, for sure. that light bar looks like it could definitely work.

I have an 03 Jeep. I may look into some of those strobes that you mentioned as well.
