Jupiter Kit VENT LIGHT Problems

Hello people. I have a problem. I have the Jupiter Light Kit and I found the Light Vent simply too weak. Any of you against the 10mm LED Light else has changed? if so against whom? Is there a link. The kit is really ok but the Vent Light is just shit. It must Brighter lights (like in the movie)

PS: Cool or so pictures would be, where you can see what you have taken.

I agree, that light is pretty weak. I don’t know enough about how to change it, but I agree it is pretty weak.

I’m wondering if you were to change it out would it make a difference. I say this because it is pulsating and that effect is something controlled by the chip I assume. The only solution for sure that would work is to just add a super bright led with a resistor from the same power supply.

Why don’t you email him and ask if he has any suggestions. Chris is usually pretty helpful.

Depending on how the pulsating effect is controlled, swapping another LED might not make a difference. If the LED is directly powered by a PWM pin, then the current provided is limited by the chip and another LED will suffer from the same dimness.

I wanted a similar effect in the Arduino-driven board I designed, but I likewise found initially that driving the LED straight from the pin resulted in a lack of full brightness.

Were on the same page here. But I totally forgot the vent light was on its own switch. doh! I own one of these setups as well…

If the vent light is on its own switch and you don’t mind losing the pulsing effect you could just bypass the board altogether and drive the LED right off of the power source with the appropriate resistor.

It is a dpdt switch so you could swap it out for a 3PDT and keep the sound option… if they make such a switch. I guess a 3P3T would work as well and is eaisly found online. Then you could have both a steady light and that pulsating effect.

I thought mine was dim too, so I went to radio shack, bought an Extreme Bright (or whatever it was called) and simply switched them out with no problem.

and what an art LED or lamp that was exactly?

I cut the switch off mine and the light comes on when you turn on the kit. then i put that led under a white hat light and put it on the the front of the gun box by the palm rest. I used a cheap dollar store flashlight wired to its own 9v battery and dpdt switch as the vent light. its plenty bright and you get the real lightbulb look like the movie.
