While I do agree with you that people do seem to find something to complain about in everything… I will simply have to agree to disagree with you in regards to the status of the web site. I’m not saying that the game is going to be horrible because there hasn’t been any updates to the site. All I am saying is that the purpose of having a web site such as this is to get the product out there and keep people interested and informed about it… post news, screenshots, etc… they should use it to its full potential to attract more attention. I’m not saying they need to do it NOW … but they have had how many months to put something new up on the site and nothing has really changed?!
Again, it doesn’t have to be the TR team that has to update the site. They could easily contract someone to update the site. I mean, the guys are doing interviews left and right… why not hire someone to go and conduct in-office interviews with the staff… take pics of them hard at work… get the low-down on everything going on with the game and its development. I think that would be awesome. Especially since it would come from an official source.
And for the record: I think the only people that are worse than the people who constantly bitch about the game’s minor issues (venkman’s strap, twin towers, etc) are the condescending jerk-offs who shit all over everyone’s opinions even when those opinions are valid and expressed in a rational and logical manner. I can deal with the bitching & nitpicking fans until the end of the world… (i actually find them amusing) but people like you… the ones who come in and rather than contribute something meaningful to a discussion you start ■■■■■■■■ on everyone and everything with the name-calling, telling people to shut the ■■■■ up, and throwing around your ridiculous generalizations that everyone who criticizes the game or has an opinion differing from your own apparently sits around all day doing nothing but “text messaging” and playing “pac man video games” while drinking zima and listening to loud music. You may have a different opinion than the people in this thread… But you don’t have to be an ■■■■■■■ about it. I do agree that from the current standpoint, the website has become a wasted effort.
I also agree that TR should concentrate on getting the game’s more crucial elements finished.
But I do think in agreeance with those who feel the website could still have been given a bit more of an update then the meagre ones it’s received since the Activision handover.

Guys, I sincerely apologize for my words and actions in the past 24 hours. I did not mean any hurt feelings or get into heated arguments. I am sorry. I got sick of all the negativity and childlike cries of “Why?” and lashed out.
It is threads like this that remind me why I don’t bother looking into the video game section of the site. Seriously, the game comes out in about 4 weeks. You will all live until then. I promise.

I mean seriously… Nobody said “OMFG I’m going to die because they haven’t updated the web site in like forever… this game is going to suck”… It’s people like you that keep VALID points from being made because you (like cliff did up above) come in and shit all over everyone who has an opinion that is different than your own and then those people who are trying to make those valid points do not want to come here anymore.
If it bothers you so much then just don’t waste your time trolling this thread and move along… If you can’t find a section of the site where everyone agrees with everything you say you should just leave. Since when is it a crime to think some updates to the site would be nice? Nobody in this thread has said anything about needing upates, nobody has criticized any of the TR team for not updating, nor has anyone thrown a tantrum demanding the site be updated. It’s a simple discussion about how some people think it would be nice to see some updates to the site sometime soon. If you don’t have anything constructive to add to the discussion… don’t post. We don’t need ANOTHER arrogant putz coming in and telling everyone to just deal with it because the game is coming soon. It’s a completely non-constructive thing to say in relation to what had been discussed prior to your invasion.

Ideally, yeah I think it’s too bad the official site doesn’t have too much but at least there’s something there. as far as a few trailers and pics, the preorder banner and links to other Ghostbusters sites. The official Ghostbusters.com DVD site had virtually nothing on it for years and it basically still has nothing except a link to the bluray info.
I think the casual gamer knows about about the GB game through other game forums where like us they’re probably keeping up with the latest trailers/gameplay in threads. And it’s pretty much a given that all of us are following it and reading the latest info and will buy it.
I’ve been mentioning the game to non Ghosthead-people and sending them good links to gameplay and trailer videos. It is too bad the first site, the official site, to come up on a yahoo/google search for “ghostbusters game” doesn’t have the most up to date stuff but I think people interested in the game won’t have any trouble finding out decent information about the game.
I guess it’s too bad with the stuff the old guys had planned for the site as far as the sites games/interactivity. If they didn’t pass on the newer site game stuff(ESP test, trapping game), they’d probably have to start from scratch. I kinda don’t have much to say but “oh well”. :whatever: Hopefully we’ll see some kind of promotion on TV.

hopefully if gameplaying people know about gametrailers.com, I just did a search for ghostbusters and pretty much all of the videos we’ve seen or you could want to watch are on there, if the game site doesn’t look to be updated.
That trap game is really a pain. It would be great if there were some kind of level structure where the number of traps gradually increase with each level. They just throw all those traps at you right at the start and boom, you’re done before you know it. lol
I agree about gametrailers.com. They are a great “non-GB” site that seems to stay pretty up-to-date on all upcoming games. Gamecinemahd.com i thought was going to be another good one… they are the site that broke out the video of the Sedgewick training level with Venkman. I don’t think they’ve updated since, though.
Gametrailers does seem to manage to get some good exclusive footage, though. (The opening cinematic and the spider-witch footage just to name a couple of things)
I do agree that it would be nice if the official site could be the first stop for all GB:Game information. Fortunately there’s a wealth of info on the interwebs for people to get info on the game.
